This stock is going to look glorious!

Thank you for sharing the progress Henrik, if I may ask, what is the purpose of the cutout/notch at the end of the buttstock ?

I don’t think I have seen this before.
I think before high quality glue the recoil pad had that nib that went in to the wood to make it stay in place. To me it just looks very classic .

I believe it’s called a “Widow's Peak’ - A pointed detail where one material joins another. As at the top of a buttplate or under a forend tip.

Oh it looks very classy indeed. Small touches like these make all the difference!
Thanks for explaining!

So it is not quite finished, but almost. It still needs to be checkered and some engraving.nothing fancy just 375 H&H on the barrel , serialnumber on the triggergard and 4 cartridges on magazine floorplate.
But as i said before we were on a tight schedule before a very special trip to zimbabwe so those things hade to wait.

Now that's a well put together, classy hunting rifle if I ever saw one. Can't wait to see it 100% completed.

Congratulations.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
