Like the title says anyone with experience with one would be appreciated. All I’ve done is hold one. I’ve owned the original Ruger Alaskan 375 and own a No.1 375 H&H and it’s not my cup of tea. Time for a nice bolt gun.

I love mine. Very comfortable to shoot, balanced well (in my opinion). I did, however, experience some feeding issues. Sent back to Kimber and they turned it around quickly with a new magazine spring. Cycles reliably now as fast as I can work the bolt. Began deer hunting with it 2 years ago in order to get in practice for true field conditions. It has performed flawless. It’s not a London’s Best, but functions really well. If you find one, and this would go for any rifle, make sure it feeds the full magazine quickly before buying. I’m certainly not an expert, many on here are and maybe they will chime in. I love mine, FWIW.

I really like my Caprivi. Mine is chambered in 458 Lott. Little on the light side for a Lott but still not bad to shoot. Only problem I have is when I shoot with the express sights, I can’t get my fat face down without some trying. But with a scope it is perfect. It shoots well.

Beautiful rifle! I was looking at the Lott too but I’m pretty well invested in the 375 with all the bullets and dies etc. Africa in two years hopefully.

I had to do some work on my Alaskan too. Polished up the feed lips and ramp. Then it was flawless......until it broke the stock.

Where is the best place to pick one up? My LGS has not gotten back to me with a price yet. Looking at trading or selling the No.1 to help fund this also.

Gunbroker or guns international typically has several to choose from

That’s where I’ve been looking. I was hoping someone had a preferred dealer I would like some nice carmal and smoke wood like hand picked.

Euro Optic stocks them, but I would be surprised that many stocking dealers have more than a couple on hand. They are relatively specialized and quite a bit more expensive than M70’s or CZ 550’s. So I would assume that they do not fly off the shelves. I bought mine off of GB and I waited until I saw the one I wanted before I bought.

Does anyone know if Caprivi is still available in .4 calibers? I was told by a local distributor that they are no longer available in Europe in anything above 375.

With a name like "boomstick" why even think about a medium caliber rifle?

Are you gonna go to africa and shoot DG? Might you go to Kamchatka and tangle with a 10'er that simply isn't afraid of you at all? Do you want to stop the charge of a beast who really wants see what gooey center you're hiding underneath your skin.....without hitting him directly in the brain?

Boomstick......think about a "boomer"

By the way...there are a few guys selling some fine "stoppers" here right now. A couple of 460's that will drop anything on this planet can be had at a reasonable price.....make an offer.....give these guys a call.....make a deal!

A nice rifle in a perfect caliber for a dangerous game.

I just won the .416 Kimber Caprivi at our SCI chapter banquet. I’ve wanted one for a long time. It has a slick bolt and is just a very nice gun. I’ve onky begun working with it and will have to put it to hard use and see how it holds up. Now to get a recoil reducer and stock fitting done so I can shoot this beautiful monster!

When Jamy Traut ran Eden, the camp rifles for clients were a pair of Kimber Caprivi’s in .375. Those two rifles took a lot of buffalo, hippo and elephant (and plains game). He and his PH’s we’re fans.

When I go into the 400 class I want a double but so out of my price range right now. Cape buff and grizz are the only DG on the menu for now

Do hunters still buy new 460 Weatherby's or used ones for that matter?

For Cape Buffalo and Grizzly the 375 H&H is probably an excellent choice.......

How’d the stock break? I thought the Alaskan has a Hogue.

Recoil. It broke under the receiver lug. It was in the original Hogue which is apparently weak right there. I shot it a lot open sight so it was lite too

I once had a Caprivi 375 h&h. Very nice rifle! The only thing I saw wrong with it was it was a bit heavy for the caliber. Scoped, mine weighed around 10lbs. But the extra weight did make it very comfortable to shoot. I would say it would be perfect in 416 Rem Mag.
I ended up selling mine, and now have the Kimber Talkeetna in 375. It's the perfect weight for the caliber. 8.5lbs with scope installed. Either way, the Kimber is a lot of rifle for the money.
