I would like to hear from anyone with experience/recommendations concerning hunting with Nyamzama Safaris, specifically for elephant and other plains game such as sable and small cats. Also if you have any knowledge of the following hunting areas/concessions I would be very interested in hearing about them also - Nottingham Estates and Breightbridge. Thank you - This planning is getting me crazy!!

Heard of the forest not the Estate.
The planning is a great deal of the work.

Where are they operating out of?

Steve,
Although I have not hunted with Wayne, I do have an elephant /sable hunt scheduled this year. I have heard nothing but good things about him. He is one of the few African operators that gets right back to you via email. He has been very prompt and informative. Have you ever hunted in Zim before? If you want more info on Wayne, Troy Ginns with International Hunting Consultants has hunted with him and recommends him highly.

Wayne is a personal friend and an outstanding PH!
I have hunted the same concession...Nottingham and Beitbridge for more than 10 years as a PH. I have taken some very fine trophies out of there. The Elephant travel a lot, but down Chikwarakwara area they come out of Kruger NP as do the Buffalo and Lion.
Nottingham is an experience of it's own! Great place to hunt! Perhaps less so than the old days before the farm invasions but you'll still have a great time there!

A good friend use to guide on Nottingham and he always said it was great for plains game. He also hunted east of Beitbrige hunting Elephant.

Stu Taylor for Alex Strauss

Yeah, young Stu took over from me hunting for Alex!
I've known him since he was a nappy rat! He's hunting Moz now and seemingly doing well there! His folks and I are good friends!

I have just returned from a sucessful 14 day elephant hunt with Wayne Van Den Bergh of Nyamazana Safaris...Zimbabwe. My hunt was arranged by Troy Ginns of International Outdoor Consultants. His wife Lori Ginns of Travel Express arranged the travel. If you have never used Lori you should give her a try. If you travel to Africa on South African Air have her book you the seat! If you don't know what the seat is give her a call before your next trip. You'll be glad you did. I shot an old bull elephant on the 7th day of my hunt. He was on his last set of molars and they were half gone. His tusks were well worn and in the mid forties weight. Crocodile and Sable were my fill in animals and I shot a respectable Crocodile but no Sable.Wayne's camps are new but very comfortable and under constant improvement. Food was great. His staff was very professional and friendly. They were even willing to provide a little prodding to an old slow hunter when needed. Wayne has a 100% record on elephant and his prices are as good as you will find. If you are looking for a great Elephant hunt give these guys a look
