Big article in the Daily Mail this morning showing a U.S. hunter posing with 14 baboons he killed in Namibia. He posted this on facebook. This is exactly the type of publicity we don't need.

Maybe he really loves to eat baboon meat.

Is this the guy who shot the juveniles and posed with them too?
He was asking for trouble but if he's that stupid then he can't argue that people are pissed at him.

:A Target: Oops.

@postoak Can you believe that someone could misconstrue something like a number and a story? :)

  • UK Anti's going off about a hunter in Africa. Is that news?
  • He and his wife had a successful hunt, apparently. That's news for Anti's.
  • The Mail implies immoral actions because he used a bow! Must be UK Nutters where you can't bow hunt.. Did you know Bows are legal in Namibia!
  • Anything unethical? illegal? Nope.
I can't say the professed caption is too bright. But I have seen no evidence of any caption.

"'So I shot a whole family of baboons': Idaho wildlife official is slammed for Africa hunting trip in which he proudly posed for pictures with at least 14 dead animals
  • Blake Fischer and his wife shot at least 14 animals in Namibia while on safari
  • Governor CL 'Butch' Otter calls on Fischer to resign from his role with the Idaho Fish and Game Commission
  • Fischer argues he didn't do anything immoral despite using a bow and arrow
  • Critics have questioned judgment and ability to remain a commission member"

Don’t folks know how to manage privacy settings on FB? A little discretion would go a long way!

Discretion is good - maybe.
Do any of us think by being discrete about our hunting successes will change any of the antis beliefs or behavior”?”.
Maybe more of attitude “we hunt, we eat meat, deal with it”.
Maybe take a lesson from DJT and his dealing with our liberal anti-American media. I do not use faciebook, so maybe I don’t understand.

My PH, after a couple of brandies around the fire pit, gave me a little chastisement about using the terms of “harvested and taking game”.
He said “we hunt and we shoot game.”

So full disclosure - I recently listed my house for sale. The realtor told me I had to conceal my taxidermy. My first thought was f that. But I complied. And I’m Not proud of it. She was not an anti and she was in a hunting family.

The anti hunters and anti gunners will never be satisfied until all hunting and personal gun ownership ends.

F@ckem... we are never going to win the publicity battle so I say screwit go hunt post what you want. We do nothing wrong but act as though we do to not upset moron anti’s.
So tired of everyone getting offended by everything!

Personally I wouldn’t shoot 14 baboons but hey to each his own.

I was aked to do the same. When I sold my house. Told the realtor if she can sell a whole house because of one room she probably isnt very good at her job.
Got another agent who got it sold.

I was told to take the taxidermy down as well by a realator......but we were also told to remove personal photos/pictures, wall paper, knickknacks, etc. I don't think it has anything to do with antihunting, per se, but rather to make the rooms look "bigger" and less "homey".....hence the removal of personal items. It may have a positive aspect as well: do you want a bunch of strangers coming through your home, seeing your trophies, and knowing that you have firearms in your home.......to later mark your place for a break in/robbery? Just a thought.................

Fair point.

Another thing to consider, we once had people looking through a house to buy that we were renting and my wife (then gf) was home, a bloke who was a hunter came through and saw some of my big heads. He tried the old "i think i saw your boyfriend out hunting one day and it would be great if we could work around each other...where exactly does he hunt just so I know if it's him I'm thinking of?"

Fortunately, my wife doesn't even know how to get to my hunting spots so she couldn't explain it if she wanted to!

Family? Combined, they had already eaten an acre of soybeans. Unfortunately they all died from lead poisoning. That's Bill, Edna, Uncle George, and Manny, Moe & Jack.

Well, it's all over the national news. As an Idaho game commissioner, he's taking a lot of heat by hunters in the state too.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
