Where to buy .333 Jeffery brass - not Kynoch?

Does anyone know where I can purchase some .333 Jeffery rimless brass? I just bought 100 cases from Kynoch (Bertram?) which I'm having some issues reloading. Issues can be summed up as brass is sticking in the chamber even at low pressures and can only be re-sized 3-4 times before it can't be reused. The chamber and the dies seem fine so I'm leaning against the brass being the issue and I need to try some brass from another manufacturer in order to conclude.

I've been checking out the Quality Cartridge web site but is seems to be somewhat outdated. Are they still in business?

As far as I know. I got my 400 H&H brass from them

Good luck and let us know how it works out!

I got a reply from Quality Cartridge after only a short time, excellent service! Good news is that they are planning on running a batch of the .333 Jeffery Rimless later this year. The bad news is that they don't have any cases on stock which i could purchase and use to confirm that my chamber is good and that the problem is in fact the Kynoch brass.

My only hope now is to find someone who would be so kind to sell or loan me a few cases of used .333 Jeffery Rimless brass from Quality Cartridge.

Are you using a full length resizing die or just a neck sizer? Where does the brass seem to be sticking in your chamber? Are your cases splitting preventing their re-use? If so they may just have to be annealed. Can you drop an unfired cartridge made by your brass manufacturer into your chamber? With some more details, perhaps some of the reloaders can offer additional suggestions.

Full size. I need to do a proper full size before I can chamber the case normally. When I back the die up just a touch I need to press the bolt down.

Brass is sticking between 1/2" and 1-1/8" from the bottom of the case.

Cases are not splitting but have visible cracks in the shoulder area.

I have tried to anneal the necks without any noticeable results. I'm leaning against the conclusion that the entire case has been annealed (= too soft) and that is the problem.

Unfired cases chamber fine. When measured they are smaller than the minimum tolerances defined in the CIP standard. Sized cases are within the tolerances (after they've been trimmed 0.012").

Bullet free flight is 0.06in. Sufficient room in neck throat for neck to expand.

Cases stops sticking when the charge is reduced. V0 is just short of 2200fps when cases stop sticking. With te 250grs bullet I'm using this should according to quickload give a chamber pressure of only 33.5 kPSI.

Do you have these same issues with cases that have only been fired once previously?

Yes. I have about 30 cases which I've been using. All cases have been sized 3 - 4 times (and fired 4 - 5 times). Those which have been fired 4 times has been loaded to soft to moderate loads with different powders. Equally hard to extract every time. I've reduced the load in increments of 1 grain of powder using five of the cases (starting 1 grain under what according to quickload should be minimum charge). On the second load (3 grs below "minimum" the bolt lift became a bit softer. On the third load (4 grs below "minimum") the bolt lift was nice and smooth.

jjrckd, I was just looking online for info about the 333 Jeffery. Wikipedia mentioned that the 333 Jeffery was derived from the 404 Jeffery. Might it be possible to rework 404 Jeffery brass to get the cases you need? I realize my question may be way outside the box, its' just a thought.

Shootist44, I have been looking into that option myself. From what I've found the process is quite labor extensive since the difference between the two cases is quite significant. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to go down this road.
