Belize - Short vacation with some fishing & snorkling

This past week I was able to visit Belize, more specifically Ambergris Caye off the coast of Belize. Beautiful area and scenery. Unbelievably clear water! Here are some aerial pics from the co-pilots seat in the puddle jumper on the way in as well as some fishing, and swimming with the nurse sharks and rays. It was a peaceful and beautiful place, id love to go back and do more fishing especially more offshore. If your a diver or die hard fisherman, i would certainly suggest this destination.

Awesome stuff Reedy! I went to Roatan off the coast of Honduras several years ago - looks very similar with that crystal clear water with a bright blue shimmer. We went diving and it was crazy how far you can see in water like that.

Yes it is, I was amazed at the marine life and coral reef and how clear it was!

Very Cool! I LOVE Belize! I spent a lot of time there in the mid 90's on St. George's Caye, Ambegris Caye and Belize City. I regret not buying a place down there. It is amazing, glad you had fun!

I've been to Ambergris Caye three times and had wonderful time. It is also a location where a fly fisherman has a good shot at a Grand Slam (permit, bonefish, tarpon). Bonefish are a "given" on almost any day. I'm planning a trip back this coming winter.

I love Ambergris Caye!!!! We rent a beach house up the coast every few years. I always look forward to a belly full of Belikin and lobster burritos.

I usually spear fish on the outer barrier reef and fish the flats on the north end of the island for bones and permit.
