Politics

On one of the gun forums I belong to, they also have an "off-topic" section. People do not even see it listed among sections let alone post there until they have posted X amount of times in other more relevant sections of the web site. It sure cuts down on trolls.

I wonder if something like that could be implemented here.

Grown men wouldn’t need a digital baby-sitter if they were just possessed of a little self-control. Unfortunately, to the detriment of what often is one of the few worthwhile discussions of politics, that isn’t the case. Ego supplants judgment and the need to “confront and correct” fuels the troll.

U.S. farmers are facing significant trouble due to tariffs. Retaliatory tariffs from other countries have reduced demand and prices for U.S. agricultural exports, such as soybeans, pork, and cotton. At the same time, tariffs on imported goods have increased farmers' operating costs for things like fertilizer and equipment.

Poor people are being disproportionately affected by the ongoing government shutdown, which began on October 1, 2025. Critical food and housing benefits that low-income families rely on are being cut off, causing financial instability.

As SNAP and WIC benefits are disrupted, demand on local food banks and charities is increasing, but these organizations cannot replace the scale of federal assistance.

If a government shutdown leads to the expiration of enhanced federal health insurance subsidies, poor people will be in trouble with higher insurance costs. A potential shutdown could significantly increase health insurance premiums for millions of low- and moderate-income Americans who rely on subsidies through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces.

Recent economic analyses suggest that middle-class households are likely to face significant trouble with inflation costs due to tariffs. Economists widely forecast that the costs from tariffs will largely be passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices for everyday goods, lowering spending power and contributing to broader economic uncertainty.

There is a high possibility that current government spending and recently enacted tax legislation will lead to higher costs and potentially higher taxes for middle-class Americans in the future. Key factors include rising deficits, new tariffs, and the expiration of certain tax cuts.

The national debt is projected to increase substantially, driven by rising mandatory spending and interest costs. The debt-to-GDP ratio has surpassed 100% and is projected to reach 118% by 2035. Eventually, these trends could necessitate higher taxes or reduced government spending to stabilize the national debt.

BUT..............DO NOT DISPAIR!!!

The U.S.S. Gerald Ford (biggest aircraft carrier in the world) is on the way to sink the boats in Venezuela and the construction of the new White House Golden Ballroom is progressing quickly.

Let's not forget that to have a discussion of politics...........both sides of the issue must be presented.

Those who think that one side should be cut off should move to Russia.

Putin will be glad to have them.

This was such a more enjoyable experience before @Frostbite arrived to bless us with his inexhaustible supply of knowledge and keen insight. I surrender to a superior intellect, and am going the IGNORE route. He will be proud to be on a list of 1. Caio Bella

Frostbites mates/heroes are up to their lovely tricks again....

Gosh, we haven't heard from the "Save The Whales" people in years.

How nostalgic.

The only meaningful question is--how do we get rid of them???

Bessent says he's a soybean farmer.

He says, “In case you don’t know it, I’m actually a soybean farmer."

Truth: He's a multi-millionaire who rents land to corn and soybean farmers.

He says he feels the pain just like other farmers.

:D

Do the Trumper's ever tell the truth?

Hardly ever..........always twisting the truth for their own gain.

would be nice if " blocking" would completely remove the entire person from your site, no post answer or anything else, no mention at all, please!

Brickburn, can you get rid of this troll and his negativity??
The truth is negativity for you.

Odd view of the world you have.

Welcome to Frostbite's AH (*cough, cough*) contributions, where everything is made up and the facts don't matter.
Ah, you just don't like truths and facts..........they riddle you with cognitive dissonance.

Like the fact that Reagan didn't really love tariffs.

Trump lied.

Trump said, "Reagan loved tariffs."

Reagan said:

"Tariffs hurt every American worker and consumer."

"Markets shrink and collapse; businesses and industries shut down; and millions of people lose their jobs."

"We should beware of the demagogues who are ready to declare a trade war against our friends... all while cynically waving the American flag."

Wow.

I guess Reagan knew Trump was coming.

Its actually kind of funny, your pro farmer not a fan of trumps lies or tariffs and have spoken out positively about Canada basically all of the this things should make you and I natural alleys and yet you’ve found away to make it so that I too can’t stand you. If your personality in real life mirrors your online contributions to this forum you must be a sad and lonely individual based on your natural ability to drive people away.

I notice that you didn't refute any of the facts I have posted here.........you just say you don't like me.

Yet you are unable to refute any of the facts I have posted.

I conclude that you just don't like facts and you don't like being wrong.

I can only recommend that you try to learn more so you know the difference between right and wrong.

Maybe then you won't be so angry and hostile.

Good luck.
