I'll give them a call now! I had checked their website and couldn't find it. Assumed they just didn't have them.Numrich did have some. Got one from them about six month ago.
I had to call them, not listed on website
Curious; what happens to the one it was wearing?
Yes, Numrich was what came to my mind also. Good company and easy to work with. I hope that you can find what you're looking for/
That "crack" is nothing, just a chip, you can fix it yourself good as new. You need to relieve some material at the rear of the tang and do a light bedding... also, check and recheck your front anchor bolt, if you have spaghetti arms invite your gorilla pal, Bubba, to crank that bolt in with the power of Thor, cuz that is what you need to do. On the Lott, I highly recommend sourcing a hex anchor bolt for the front and carry the key with you field.Started to crack. Just got the call from Ruger's Customer service and was quoted $900 for replacement. Before accepting that I'm checking on alternatives.
You can void their warranty simply by taking the stock off to have a look?Quick update for those interested. I opted to go ahead and pay Ruger to build and fit a new stock. Total cost was quoted as $965 including return shipping. Ruger does not keep an inventory of these stocks so time frame is unknown. I requested the original stock be returned as well, which they agreed. My plan is to have the original stock repaired so long as the stocks integrity isn't affected. I didn't take the rifle apart to inspect the severity of the crack as I didn't want to void any potential remaining warranty. Hopefully it is superficial, time will tell.
It's a lawyer ridden world we live in. Common sense is a thing of the past. Ruger mentioned they believe the damage came from the stock screws not being torqued appropriately, therefore not covered under warranty. Seems like a scapegoat to me but I suppose I should have checked the torque beforehand and didn't. Live and learn. You can void their warranty simply by taking the stock off to have a look?
In any case a stock for under $1,000 is a steal.
