So you jump to a cop beating his kids? I highly doubt that. His father talked him in to peacefully turning himself in.

While we don’t know what happens behind closed doors at home, we do absolutely know what goes on at school with liberal teachers and administrators. I had to call out teachers at the schools my kids attended for ridiculous statements they made in class. I actually received apologies and corrections were shared with the whole class. Parents must be more engaged once the kids get home and with schools. I’ve witnessed a lot of conservative parents that avoid political discussions with their kids and it rarely works out well. Parents need to be interested and proactive.
Yes, agreed. We are lucky in that both older kids got through high school w/o being brainwashed… with minimal exposure to only a couple teachers of left/wingnut persuasion out of an otherwise very conservative school system and conservative teacher population. One just finished college trade school and the other is a 4th year senior in college. Both are now left/liberal proof. At age 4, our youngest is in second year of pre-school but in a foreign country. The western form of corrupt, perverse, liberal left thinking we see polluting our culture here in the US is all but unknown there. Our 4 year old is growing up in a very conservative environment and school system and thank goodness it’s not in Europe…. which, BTW, may be slipping similarly to the US. Ever vigilant, but so far no worries.

Or his father beat him senseless as a kid, so he vowed to become the opposite of his father. No one here has a clue what went on inside that house, so there’s no point in speculating.
Or the kid was just evil. Maybe he thought he was smarter than everyone else, and his solution was to murder Charlie Kirk. Contrary to.popular opinion, some people appear to.be born evil. I dealt with one guy in prison that had four siblings that grew to be successful adults, but the offender that I had to deal with was a murderer and armed robber. Blaming the father for things you have no information on is foolish.

If your area has school of choice or a good Christian school nearby, that’s something to look into as well. Kind of a pain to drive your kids across town to a different school but something to consider.

Another thing to consider is to move to an area with a great school. That’s what we did. We had horse pasture five minutes from our house in town but sold the pasture and sold our house in town to an investor buying rental houses and rented it back while building a house further out of town with other pasture. The grade school by our new property was rated #6 in the state. We still had to deal with liberal teachers who lived in town who drove out to the country school every day to work but they were in the minority and had no choice but to conform in our community of ranchers and rural property owners.

I had already committed (mentally) to sending them to a private Catholic/Christian school. The recent shooting in Minneapolis at the Catholic school really spooked the wife. It obviously didn't sit well with me either but, I've sort of realized its a risk ever since Columbine. You can't ever get hit by a car if you never cross any roads, but that's not so feasible.

I went to an all male private Catholic high school. I believe it was, and still is, one of the top in the nation. With that being said, it wasn't fun. However, I ended up on the right path.

Please show me where I mentioned the father being a cop, way to put words in my mouth. I believe in universal health care, so I must hate cops, eh?

I’m pointing out that no amount of armchair quarterbacking can tell you what this guys life was like at home or school, and what lead him to making this decision. 80% of the blame should be placed on social media and their algorithms that allow everyone to live their lives in an echo chamber no matter what your stances are.

You’re 100% right. And none of us here have any idea what his past was.

Did you not read my first post? Father is a cop.

Wacky liberal education system, SM, the kid and parents avoiding political conversations are all to blame.

I did. But him being a cop had no influence on my comment.

Hell, maybe the kids a Russian agent taking the heat off Russia for attacking a NATO country. See how that’s fallen off the the media’s radar?

Yes sir, all of the above is true.
Our experience with the public education system was this. When I would pick up our youngest daughter from school, grades 1-8 she would always want to listen to Rush or if his show was over Todd Schnit. After the 8th grade she was accepted to the international baccalaureate program in our county. She had to transfer schools which we were grateful as the new school was much better.
After each year I could tell a shift in her political views and by graduation she was left of Bernie Sanders but when she transferred she was at or to the right of Rush. We live in what is arguably the reddest county in Alabama so it was disturbing to see kids graduating with these political views.
She then went to The University of Alabama at Birmingham and earned a double major in public health and Spanish. UAB deepened the liberal ideology and then she went on to Emory University in Atlanta and earned a masters in international health. The liberal views softened a bit at Emory but then an 18 month stint at the CDC they came back stronger.
Now she has taken a job with a private firm and after spending 3 weeks with her in Africa I get the feeling that she is heading back in the right direction. At least in her mother’s and my opinion.
Long winded way of saying the public education system sucks!

Wow, whatever Bro. Have a nice day.

Father is a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and both parents are registered republicans. A failure of not talking to your kids at the dinner table about issues and politics. Parents must keep engaged and not let society and the liberal education system indoctrinate their kids. Parents didn’t pull the trigger but were asleep at the wheel.
That not all ways the case of not talking to them. College can mess up some inpreisinal kids.
One of mine is not a complete liberal nut but there no where like they were when they left.

Also, what the hell is going on in Nepal?

Time to cash in now that her political career and throw everyone else under the bus. No honor among thieves I guess.

Government tried to impose a social media ban and what looks like a riot turned into a revolution I saw officials escaping hanging onto the rope attached to a helicopter
They torched the parliament as well!

Also, what the hell is going on in Nepal?

Corruption. Lack of opportunity for gen z. Government getting close to China. It is my understanding til tok was excluded. Evidently blocking the major social media companies the young people used was the breaking point for the youth.

Gov pushed a generally poor population of people too far. For many there, open social media is their only uncensored, gateway to the outside world. Some also eke out small supplemental income on the internet. No more complicated than that. A summary of what I gather from a friend whose family farms rice near Katmandu.

History has several examples of brainwashed people committing action they thought would be viewed as heroic but civilized peoples consider horrific. To the names of Gavrilo Princip and John Wilkes Booth now is added Tyler Robinson.

Doug Wilson moved this interview with Kirk from behind the Canon Press paywall to YouTube. There's a lot more in the discussion than the title leads on, worth a listen.
