SOUTH AFRICA: Cat Scratch Fever In The Kalahari

Not sure how I missed this story. Well written and felt like I was behind you watching all this unfold. Congratulations on a beautiful Lioness.

Could I really be hunting Lion?
When I first met with Buffalo, my thought was identical. Could I really be hunting buffalo?
Hard to believe, isnt it!?

Thank you for the report!
Congratulations on an thrilling hunt!

Yes. That’s pretty much the feeling I’ve had while hunting every DG I’ve ever hunted. I dreamed about it for so long before actually getting to do it, it sometimes seems unreal.

I had actually forgotten about some of the details of this hunt. Brings back memories of a very fun safari. @Ridgewalker was along for this one and he was a pleasure to hunt with. I hope he is doing well!
Still around. Just having to struggle a bit with old man issues. Appears my hunting days may be nearing an end.
This was a great trip and having you there to share the time was great fun! I still listen to your CDs you gave me and enjoy them.
Have a great day!

Sorry to hear this and hope you can still find the strength to continue to hunt. Unfortunately, we will all get there one day. However, like the last Toby Keith song said, "Don't let the old man in".

Good to hear from you! I hate to hear you’ve not been hunting much. Hopefully you can get your health straightened out and hit the woods again soon!

Nice writeup, I don't know how I missed the the first time around.

Having shot my lioness last year I salute you on fulfilling a dream. I know I did mine.

Thanks Dave! Glad you got to do it as well. Not sure what the future holds for lion hunting in SA.

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
