I am looking at booking a Kodiak Island Brown Bear hunt and am at the initial stages of researching outfitters. If anyone has had first hand experience (good or bad) I would welcome the feedback.

Larsen Bay Lodge and Foxtail Lodge have great reputations. I've hunted Blacktail's and sea ducks up there but not bears. Seen plenty of bears though!

We hunted with Larson Bay a few years back. Great operation.. we had a wonderful time.. George Strait was coming in to hunt bear a couple of weeks after we left.. they definitely attract top and discerning clientele..

I’ve not hunted Kodiak island but I have hunted brownies on the Alaska Peninsula with this outfitter.

Haven’t got a bad word to say about him or his operations.

+1 on Justin Horton. I hunted with him on Kodiak (kiluda bay) several years back. Quality guide and outfitter. Exhibits at dsc every year.

Brian Peterson Ugak Bay Lodge. Been at it a long time and is as honorable as they come.

Doesn’t member Scott CWO arrange hunts up there? Maybe pm that guy and see what he has to offer

One of the sales reps that I work with used Kodiak Outdoor Adventures. I believe he shot an eleven footer. Kodiak is an amazing adventure! I hope you make some fantastic memories.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
