Zwilling Safaris Uganda

In memory of Peter Pichler, conservationist of the Kyambura game reserve in Uganda and Ernst Zwilling, hunter and author. Peter Pichler died in a car accident in South Sudan at the beginning of this century. His ashes were spread in the Kyambura game reserve. Ernst Zwilling was at the time a well-known author and hunter who wrote several books about his hunts in various countries of Africa. I did not get to know Ernst Zwilling anymore because he died shortly before I hunted in Uganda, but I did hunt with Peter Pichler in Uganda.

Thanks for keeping the memory alive! I never heard about Peter Pichler - did he work with Zwilling? Ernst Alexander Zwilling died in 1990, i read all his books and most of his articles in our hunting magazines. I knew a man who hunted with Zwilling on several Safaris in the 1960s. He told me that Zwilling was a licensed PH in Uganda but left when Idi Amin came to power.

Peter Pichler was one of the founders of this company. He was also Gunmaker in Ligist/Austria. After his death, the company Zwilling Safaris in Uganda was dissolved.
