This scope is about ten years old and I paid about $400.00 back then . Great quality for the money. Coming off my 300 wsm elk gun as I am standardizing upgrading to leupold vari x 5 . Have box etc.

I would like to get $200 shipped to continental US

I will take it, PM to follow.

Before you buy the leupold 5HD talk to a bunch of people that have them. Mine has gone back twice in less than 1 year. I bought it new and when I took it back to the dealer where I bought it he sent it back with 4 others. I’m a Leupold guy and have been for 50 years, but now I’m turning into a Swarovski guy. No one can afford to have scopes fail at this rate when your thousands of miles from home.

Thanx mountaineer ! What has been the problem? I am standardizing on the vari x 5 3-15x44 illuminated with cds reticle. Until now have heard nothing but good things .

This is news to me as well. I am also a Leopold guy. Have them on nearly all my rifles. Most are old vxIIs some vxIIIs. I do have a couple vx6s and just bought a vx5. Have never had a issue with a scope till now, the cross hair on one of the 6es broke. It was on a 375 H&H. But has probably been on a Rigby and 375 Rum in the past. The vx5 I have I bought has a spot in the rectical. It is not on front or back lens it seem to be in the same plane as the cross hair. I bought it this way and am going to send it in with my vx6.

I didn’t think much of these issues as no product is perfect but thought I would throw it out there after reading what Mountaineer had to say. See if any others have anything to add.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
