Woodleigh Hydro seating question/problem

Thanks! I want to make sure I am sharing what I have correctly. Mine are very long and have a green plastic looking cap
Woodleigh do a plastic capped Hydro.

The cap aids feeding.

I have some for my .375 but I have not loaded any.

They will be long because the brass alloy is lighter than lead requiring a longer projectile to get the weight.

You are correct. There is only one Hydro. The Woodleigh Hydrostatic Bullets. They do now come with a green plastic tip cover to assist feeding. They originally did not have the green tip cover. It can be snapped off and clipped back on. They are also bore riders. That is the shank is the bore diameter and the bands are the grove diameter. Barnes for example are not bore riders the groves are cut into them and the shank is the grove diameter. Hope this helps explain a little about the Hydro's. Oh and they work.

Following up: Geoff suggested a few loads with RL15 and Varget, running to a maximum of 2450fps. He suggested reaching out to Federal for further comment on standard velocity loads, he assumes they are using an Alliant powder.

I did a bit of loading today to try some new loads in both 300 win mag and 375 H&H. This included some 300gr Woodleigh Hydro's. I was using a Hornady seating die with the floating alignment sleeve inside of it. As I seated the bullets, it met a fair bit of a resistance in the last bit of level throw. I was aiming for 3.600" COAL and achieved it, but ran into crushed plastic caps with a severe indent on the caps themselves from that floating ring. Anyone else run into this? I was using Norma brass (1x fired) with 75gr IMR-4350.
I know this is a late reply but a very simple solution. You can pop the cap off of the bullet. Seat to desired depth then reinstall the cap on the bullet. Done deal.

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
Impala cull hunt for camp meat!
