I don't know how I managed it, but all of my break action guns have extractors vs. ejectors. Due to the influence of the teachings of Robert Churchill, plus anticipating a double rifle some day, which ejector system has proven to be the most robust? Which one is the easiest to work on, keep functioning? The most likely scenario is purchase of used British pre-war arms, Continental only if ejector AND non-Greener safety. (I want them on the tang)

I know much more about shotguns but I imagine the principles the be the same. The southgate is generally considered the standard. The greener style as seen on their facile princeps guns is a very clever system and arguably better but not as commonly seen. Patents and such get into that.

Boss has its own system but rarely seen on guns other than theirs.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
