Curiosity question! I called Delta Airlines and asked if it's ok to have a locked ammo case inside a locked gun case when flying their airlines. The person I spoke with at Delta didn't know offhand and took my number to call me back. I haven't heard back from them. On the NalPak Group.com website, there's a short video on the TuffPak Gun Case section of a gentleman not only putting his locked ammo case in the TuffPak gun case, but clothing and boots as well. Has anyone ever flown with their locked ammo case in with their rifle(s) in a locked case? I'm placing my locked ammo case in with my other checked bag, but thought about maybe placing a jacket and few towels to keep my rifle in the soft rifle case from moving around.

Would never put ammo in gun case regardless of any authorities opinion. Goes against every common sense reason for separating guns and ammo, and I am sure the one jurisdiction that could pull your guns off of the flight would. I have travelled with clothes in my TuffPak before. It has been fine with nothing said on some trips, and then I have had to remove everything but guns and put in my suitcase on others. Only thing certain is nothing is certain. Just my 2 cents.

I keep my ammo separate from my guns. When I fly, I put my locked ammo in my checked Pelican/Hardigg luggage case.

I have no

I have not traveled with ammo in my tuffpak.
I do always put at least a coat in it, and at times have had more clothes (waders, hoodies etc) than guns without a problem.

As far as I know, Ammo cannot be in the gun case. When you get to SA on connecting flights, you'll have to have the locked ammo box checked separately. I keep a small locked ammo box inside main luggage case to SA with Delta.

To my knowledge, you cannot put ammo, whether in a locked case or not, in the case that holds your firearm.

You can in many cases, put a locked ammo case in checked luggage. The only exception that I have encountered is flying within South Africa. They will often make you check your ammo case. This is why I purchased a Pelican 1170 to use as my ammo case. Even though KLM/Air France allows locked ammo boxes in checked luggage, every time I have left South Africa, the Air France employee at the check in desk has make me remove the ammo box from the checked bag and check it.

I have used my TuffPak on each of my three trips to South Africa. My optics, knives, belts and hunting clothing are stuffed inside, around my cased rifle. So far, it has worked very well.

I think first trip to Africa in 2013 I used a tuff Pak and had the ammo in their little ammo case inside the large one. That regulation has since changed. I think I have seen that video,...if it's a guy talking about packing his double rifle in there....that video is old.

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
