TOO close to home...

Steve you are absolutely correct. When @Just Gina and I were looking for a house outside of the Communist Dictatorship of Minnesota, she would do a check on the areas we were considering and it was astonishing how many convicted sex offenders and murderers are living in some small towns.
@ActionBob
You wouldn't have liked the area my bother and I lived in then.
Crime, violence,sex, sin, debauchery, booze and slums.
If'n y'all think that's bad that's was only our house the neighbours were worse.
Bob

While I agree with you, not all those listed on the sex offender list are really (what I would consider) offenders. Some people are listed for statutory rape, such as a someone over the age of 18 dating someone younger, parents find out they had sex, and press charges. While it isn't right, it was consensual so shouldn't be placed on the list. I know of one case where on the Savannah River Bridge 5k, a man swatted a reporters butt as he ran by. Stupid and inappropriate to me, but she pressed charges and he was charged with sexual assault and placed on the list. Other times, a spouse or significant other makes false accusations. Even if they are proven false, the person can STILL be placed on the list. Heck, you could swipe your wife's rear, she call the police, then YOU are on the list. Context is key.
@gcbailey
I agree wholeheartedly with what you are saying.
Saw a show on sex offender and it was very disturbing.
Young man 18 as you said had consensual sex with his 17 year old girlfriend. Charged by said girls parents. On release from prison he had to live in an area put aside for sex offenders some really violent ones as well. This young man was branded for life, couldn't get a job or anything. At the end of the show the credit said he committed suicide just after the show finish filming.
That girls parents should have been charge for being idiots but unfortunately you can't legislate against stupidity.
Sometimes people and the law are an ass.
Years ago a girl took a wolf whistle as a compliment now it's sexual harrassment. What has our wold come to.
Bob

True, context is important. Still, knowledge from these sex offender databases can be of value, especially for those violent sexual predators and pedophiles, they are out there, more than you think. In my previous career, I had some interesting conversations with psychologists and FBI profilers regarding this behavior. I had a profound disagreement with a psychologist who believed a pedophile could be treated and cured. My thoughts are sure, with a bullet to the head. I like an FBI profilers thoughts on this subject, she felt the desire will always be there forever, regardless of any type of treatment. Can they be treated and stop this deviant behavior? She said it’s akin to taking a bite of your favorite pizza, chewing it, savoring the wonderful taste and then spitting it out without swallowing. Highly unlikely.
@BJH65
A frontal lobotomy would take away any desire for anything

If one of these assholes messes with one of the girls in my family, they’d better pray that the police get to them before I do.

If anything happens that close to my girls, I would be the most dangerous person on the planet. Best prevention is zero tolerance.
@fourfive8
The best deterrent I had for my daughter's boyfriends was a BBQ apron. Yes you read correctly a BBQ apron.
On it, it said.
I have a daughter
I also have
A shotgun
A shovel
And
An alibi
Then I would show them my gun safe.
Never a problem.

A couple of stories come to mind.

First. Back in the 90s a young girl was kidnapped by a young couple (boyfriend and girlfriend) they drove her across state lines and held up in a motel. After a day or so the FBI found the motel and staked it out. The local sheriff from where the girl lived and was kidnapped from thought the FBI were wasting time and stalling. So he took it upon himself to rescue the girl. He drove across county and state lines, drove past the FBI stake outs, kicked in the motel door shot the girlfriend between the eyes with his 357 Magnum. The boyfriend jumped out the back window and ran down an alley, the sheriff hunts him down and shoots the SOB dead. The sheriff returned to the motel room, which is now full of FBI, carries the girl to his car and drives her home to her parents.

Second. Back in the 20s a young so called doctor came to a small local town. While he was in a local store, he forced himself on a teenage girl, whose father owned the store. The father came in the store, seen what was going on and tried to intervene. The doctor killed the father and fled. The sheriff and posse (the county and sheriff had no deputies until the late 70s) hunt for him but were unsuccessful. Several months went by and word came that the doctor was staying with a family, three counties away. The sheriff saddled up with a few men, the teenage girl and her older brother. They rode into the county, got the sheriff to accompany them and went to the families home. Once there they called into the house for someone to come out, a husband and wife stepped out on the front porch, they asked if anyone else was in the house or was staying with them, the couple responded yes that a doctor was. The sheriff asked the husband to call the doctor out. When the doctor came out onto the porch, the sheriff asked the teenage girl to positively identify him, she confirmed that this was the man that forced himself on her and killed her father. The sheriff then told the husband and wife to go inside, he looked over at the older brother and asked him if he wanted to do the killing. The older brother said sure do! Pull out his pistol and shot the doctor dead on the front porch.

We have all these laws but no justice. We need corporal punishment and justice.

"dead offenders not repeat offenders"

Interesting, as screwed up as CA is, he would have been charged with a misdemeanor with zero time served at most in CA the minor would have to be under 16 and the perpetrator over 21 for this to be charged as a felony. Basically most of the various laws nationwide in the U.S. regarding this is anyone under 18 is incapable of giving consent. Probably should be changed to 16, I think a handful of states changed it. If you think back to our high school years and college years some on this forum (maybe many) likely committed statutory rape. It’s unfortunate prosecutor discretion wasn’t utilized in the case you described.

I don't talk about this often, there a exactly two people I have would ZERO hesitation to eliminate from existence. Those pieces of excrement harmed the 2 people that I care the most about.
However, then the people who have already been through hell would have more of it to endure.
I'll not do that to them

@steve white
I like to give them two options after my sentence.
The sentence being
Place them in a wooden she with a vice welded to a 300# table.
Place perpetrators penis in vice, tighten and remove handle then spot weld the jaws of said vice.
Pour 5 gallons of petrol/ coal oil over and in shed
Give perpetrators a blunt butter knife , lock door and light the shed.
Options
Cut it off or burn in hell.
Fortunately that's me being nice. At least they get an option. They didn't give the victims and option
I was going to give them one option, no butter knife, just burn in hell but I am a nice guy after all.

Bob, please remind me to never piss you off lol

Yes, and if you might be caught urinating behind the bar when the restroom is full and you can't wait, you can be charged with indecent exposure and get on the list.

Well, the saga continues. The man's family--wife half his age and their two kids, boy and girl came home from Florida, not knowing ole' dad is in jail. Unfortunately, the children will have to be counseled and the possibility that they were ever molested, investigated. Lots of heartache to go around...

I do not know the legal statutes directing molesters concerning their own children. They are prohibited from working around children, but living with their own children? Has the man been breaking a law since early 2000's?

Bob, please remind me to never piss you off lol
@Field28
You can piss me off all you like mate 99% of shit doesn't worry me. People have been pissing me off for years but I usually give as good as I get or deserve it or ignore it.
You can offended me all you like but not my wife, family or friends. That makes me not a happy chappy that could have dire consequences that may require you to have good hospital cover.
Kiddy fiddler's and rapists are a different story.

The west has become too soft on crime and evil in general.
We're also in this post-modernist relativism phase of stupid where each person's truth is their own truth. We're going to be circling the drain if we don't pull our heads out. Alas, it's probably a long way off and will require some hard times to shake us out of it.
We're still in one of the iterative phases of marxism constantly rebranding itself - wokeism.

Corporal punishment works. Flat out.
I've seen it in the Islamic middle east and in Singapore.
The west (I'm using a broad brush but let's just say America, Canada, and most of Europe) has an amazing and enviable justice system but it needs a little re-calibration.

I'm not championing vigilantism or removing the crown jewels jewels of the justice system (presumption of innocence, right to a fair trial by jury, bill of rights, etc.) but we have become, in my opinion, far too lax, too soft, and too worried about feelings and fairness.
What has suffered is our native cold gritty sense of justice.

Very true! About 25 years ago I was standing in front of a bar in downtown Charleston SC. All of a sudden a city cop grabbed me by one arm and told me that I was going to jail for public urination. At the same time a buddy of mine grabbed me by the other arm and stated that I'd been in the bar all night with him. This tug of war went on for about 30 seconds until the cop let go and stated that he must've confused me with someone else. Had my friend not been there i could very well have to register. We had literally just walked out the front door of this bar.

So my question is this, who are the sick bastards that wrote a law equating taking a leak with sex? I get that there are some sick fetish types out there and people shouldn't be peeing all over the place.
Public exposure or flashing is also completely different than a fellow that slips behind a bush real quick.

Makes me think the law makers had their minds in the gutter.

I remember a tragic story from a few years back in North Florida. A very young girl was abducted from a trailer. Supposedly she slept in a dog bed by the back door and the perpetrators opened the door and grabbed her.

This family was the absolute epitome of poor white trash. The father was in his mid twenties, "stepmom" was 15.
I remember the national media showing a map of all the sex offenders that lived in close proximity. I thought son of bitch, by the numbers the dad ought to be on that map too!

They are everywhere. The other day my wife and I were in the Walmart self checkout scanning our groceries. My 17 year old stepdaughter was on the other side waiting for us. I happened to look up and saw this 50-something cowboy and his buddy staring at her backside with big smiles on their faces talking about what they would like to do with her. I yelled “what the f**k are you looking at” and they hightailed it for the door. The wife didn’t know what I was going off about and was embarrassed until I told her why. We then went to Safeway and as the three of us were leaving I see the same guy standing in the parking lot talking to two other young girls. I told my wife and stepdaughter that there’s the guy and started heading his way. Halfway there he looked my way. His eyes got real big and he jumped in his truck and took off. Pigs like that are in every community all over the world.

I don’t live in a neighborhood so….probably not got to worry about it around home here.
Some sick people in this world.
Society though changes over time. My grandma was married at 16 years old.
I don’t necessarily view someone 17 and over as a kid though. I was out of high school at 17 and taking college classes.

Today's announcement of 244 arrested in an FBI child trafficking sting is great news, but....would you believe one of the perps is the son in law of our music minister. And has been a sexual felon since 2002. I find it hard to believe someone in the family did not know of his activity. I actually wish that all like perpetrators would be permanently chemically castrated.
Nothing makes my blood boil like sex slavery of minors!
Since most experts in the field believe such orientation cannot be cured but only managed, what are we to do with the monsters in your opinion?
You might be shocked to find out how many live IN YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD.
You are to nice.
A bullet is a permanent fix.

To be fair all sex criminal are not what you think.
Depending on your sate laws.
If you were caught reliving yourself hunting. You could be on the register

I debated whether I should talk about this on an online forum, but since I’m a retired politician and there was already some tabloid writing about it in the past (some of which still may or may not be circulating online)… I’ll talk about it anyway.

My ex-wife (at the height of her heroin addiction) tried to get our eight year old daughter married to a wealthy 75 year old man who offered her some heroin. She damn well would have succeeded if my parents & I didn’t intervene in time. Needless to say, this was the catalyst for our divorce. We were already having a lot of marital problems regarding her addiction and for a long time… I was actually quite terrified of leaving our children alone with her due to her unstable personality (because of my government post in the Department Of Forests, I used to spend five days a week away from home). But it was at that moment that I finally gave up on her completely. There was no going back for us after what she did.

In my life, I’ve gone after many pedophiles & child sex traffickers in the line of duty. Some of it, I mentioned in my autobiography (as much as you can publicly talk about these things, anyway). When I was posted to oversee the Sundarban mangrove forests in 1980 as a DFO (Divisional Forest Officer), there were quite a few pirate clans that used to attack local villages in order to kidnap little girls for the human trafficking business. They would stuff the children into oil drums and illegally ferry them across the border into India, where the kids would be sold into child prostitution rings. One Catholic Christian village in the Buri Goalini Forest Range (Sham Nagar) used to get repeatedly attacked four or even five times a year by the pirates, who knew that the Bangladesh government (then full of Muslim & Hindu religious bigots) wouldn’t really take any action at the complaints from the local Catholic community (that too, one located in an isolated village at the extreme southwestern border of the country). All that changed when I took control of the territory. It took me three months, but I succeeded in completely bringing child sex trafficking to a halt in that region (although my dedicated men deserve the credit much more than I do). I had declared via radio-
“If you take an innocent human life anywhere around these forests, then your own life will immediately be forfeit. And if you harm a child… then you will wish that your life was forfeit”.

But what my ex wife tried to do, deserves a special place in hell. All things considered, I’d say she got off easy. I still can't believe that I was married to somebody who would sink this low just to get another heroin fix.

You want my opinion on how to deal with a pedophile ? I’ll give it to you. Cut the Achilles tendons and the Biceps tendons. Stuff them alive into an oil drum alive after filling the bottom of the drum with heavy rocks. Seal the oil drum shut and throw them into the water. Do it a few dozen times and see if anybody dares to even keep child pornography around them after that.
My friend I am truly sorry for your child.

Dealing with a child incident is why I went to work in the prison system instead of staying on the road. I was the second responder to a very bad incident
I am glad I was not the first.
