The best cheap night scope/optics

Hi all
I am looking for something that will allow me to walk through the bush at night and be able to see my way around reasonably well. I am looking for the cheapest as I live in Africa and can't afford the fancy stuff
I wanna be able to see things like animals, snakes etc in the dark via infrared or night vision

Lowest cost day/night digital optic that reasonably works is the Sightmark Wraith in my opinion.

Theyre about $500 at full retail.. you can occasionally catch them for about $450 here in the US...

The IR that comes with the optic will only give you about 100 meter of clear visibility on an average night.. but you can put a better IR on it for relatively low cost and stretch things out to 150-200 meters depending on conditions...

Ive got a Wraith mounted on my 458 SOCOM... I had it out a couple of weeks ago and was easily able to identify a small rabbit (maybe 5lbs) at 120 meters using a Sniperhog 38lrx IR light..

Another affordable option is an ATN X-Sight.. The X-Sight has a couple of options on it that the Wraith doesnt (you get audio with your video recordings, etc...).. but its more expensive.. and ATN has a pretty horrible reputation for customer service and for firmware update issues with the X-Sight.. Where Sightmark has a pretty good customer service reputation..

If youre just looking for a handheld monocular (not a scope).. Bushnell makes a decent product in the Equinox.. Its a good bit less expensive than an actual scope

How about like something I can just see out of without it not being attached to a gun..much like a monocle or binocular kind of thing

I edited the post above and added some information on the Bushnell Equinox.. its a decent handheld monocular.. its not less than $100 though..

There are some very low cost ($100-$200) options available in the US.. but most Ive seen dont have any real clarity, and have some reliability issues.. If all youre wanting to do is see to be able to walk around at night.. they'd probably be ok.. but... If you want actual clarity and the ability to see out 100M or more, rather than super grainy images that can only be seen at pretty close distances.. I dont think anything under about $250 is going to get you there..
