Well, we've all told them--what is your favorite tall tale? I propose two divisions--this first one is for tales that are actually TRUE.
I'll start with a mild one....my brother had run out of 12 ga ammo, he thought, while we were pheasant hunting, and I was shooting a 16. He came up with one last shell, flushed a bird and down it went. He ran over to get it (we didn't have dogs) and had a fit when it wasn't there. "You know what I shot it with? he asked. "Buckshot! It was the last shell laying in the bottom of my belly pack. And it ran off after that!" Well we headed for the truck when I shot the last bird and still had to stomp on it to finish it off. Back home, we just split up the birds without regard to who shot them. While I was cleaning one, a OO buckshot clanked in the sink and rolled toward the drain. Man, those wild birds are tough!
