So I own a Swarovski Z6 1-6X24 L with the CD EE Reticle. I was looking at the scope and trying to figure out whether it is First Focal Plane or Second Focal Plane? Doesn't really matter, but me and a friend were having a discussion about it and wanted to see who was right.

Also, I wish I would have found this forum sooner, because I actually listed it on eBay a couple of days ago and its still on auction. So if anyone is interested in purchasing a 1-6X24 that's currently for sale on eBay, here is the item #304828347920.

That is what I have read also, but my friend thought it was first and it put a little doubt into my mind.

Easy to tell. Look through the scope and change magnification. If the reticle size changes with changes in magnification it is a first. If the reticle doesn’t change with changes in magnification it is second

I don't think Swarovski ever offered those in 1st focal. I have an early and later generation, both are 2nd focal. One is the illuminated #4 and the other the illuminated CD.

Yeah, I can’t imagine much of a sales market for a ffp 1-6. Ffp is typically for shooting longer ranges where the magnification level can alter the degree of the scope adjustments. A scope topping out at 6x seemingly designed for big calibers seems less likely to benefit from ffp and you’ll lose more of the animal when at high magnification due to reticle size increase.

hence the typical: target ffp and hunting sfp. There are of course exceptions to this generalization and people have differing preference

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
