I'm pretty sure it's not possible on this rifle, but how does one determine how much room needed for a suppressor on a rifle with a front sight?

Thanks!

Keeping open sights on a rifle with a suppressor is a bit of a challenge & compromise, if an over barrel (best for OA shorter length & support of the suppressor) very very difficult & you end up with a strange setup which is hard to use, if you use a Can (end of barrel after moving sight back perhaps?) you still need extra high sights to make up for the bulk of the suppressor, a light weight or streamlined muffler most likely won’t be up to Magnum pressure.

I have an Oceania Defence Titanium, on one of my smaller caliber rifles, when I picked this up I thought it was made of paper Mache it was crazy light & doesn’t effect the handling at all, more so if you shorten the barrel.

To add that I believe you only need the length of the thread to be the same as the diameter to get the full strength, this on a Can.

also keep mind you will have about 34 inches of barrel with a can on so balance will be way forward and the length will be an issue in the brush, I would cut the barrel height of to 20 inches then have the front sight re-installed you might have to change the height of the front sight post depending on the amount of rear sight movement. my 30.06 with an 18 inch barrel and suppressor balances great under the magazine

A competent gunsmith will be able to move that front sight back to allow room for threading if that's what you desire.

this is how I managed it on my 404j

Where did you get this done? I am wanting to do the same think to my .375HH
It is made by a gunsmith here in Norway.
The one in the picture with the fluting is just an example. Here are some pictures of the one I got fixed.

if you can't find a smith there you might call my guy his name is Randy and he works out of Sioux Falls, SD phone is 605-929-9004. he did a nice job reinstalling my banded sight after I had the barrel cut down but I did not have it threaded for a suppressor would add to much weight and length for my .458

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
