Thank you sir.

I'm very glad for you that you finally reached your dream of hunting Africa. Your photos are great, nice trophies all. Africa, She can bite you hard.

Thank you Smitty. Excellent report, right-up, photos and telling the way it was. Some very nice animals you got but more importantly the memories you created. I have 1 year before my return and this time in SA with Francois for a 20 day multi camp hunt. Sorry if he was on the phone or emailing during your hunt, it was me that took away his time as I sent deposit. It is true what all say, you do not go on your once in a lifetime safari. It consumes your life, revisiting your memories, telling stories over and over and then the decision and planning of a return.

Thanks again for your well written story.

I am sorry vancewalker007, I just now found your reply. Thanks. I have been bitten! Now I keep thinking of a tent camp, river side, listening to hippos and hyenas, seeing elephants in the bush, and hunting a buffalo! Might have to sell the house, but someday......

Thanks MarkB! I also just found your post, so I apologize for the late reply. I am glad you are going back! It has been 2.5 months since I arrived home, and it is all I think of. Throw pillows with pictures from the trip, a couple of brag books, a small shrine of Africana I brought back, my wife says I am obsessed and crazy. Guilty. I would love to hear about your upcoming trip. Thank you for taking the time to read my little adventure.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
