Show Us Your Highland Stalker

Hello....this is my first ever post as I normally just read the threads, soak up the information shared, and view all the pics. It is fantastic to see such beautiful Rigbys being both loved and used in the field...the rifles in this thread are just stunning. I finally got to use my Rigby HS 275 last month when I was able to get back to Africa. I harvested some great plains game with the HS 275 and I simply fell in love even more with the HS rifle. It is well-balanced, easy to carry all day and functions like the well-tuned rifle Rigby made it to be. The 275 cartridge took all game with one shot at distances from 50 to 226 yards. I look forward to taking my HS back to Africa as well as using it this upcoming deer season.View attachment 541275View attachment 541276View attachment 541277View attachment 541278View attachment 541279View attachment 541280View attachment 541281View attachment 541282View attachment 541283View attachment 541284View attachment 541285View attachment 541286View attachment 541287
Lovely rifle. Who did the claw mounts? They are lovely with that rifle and the case-colored accents.

I ordered Tallys for my Mauser 98 and had the same problem with the rear base.
Hi Degoins, Did you modify them? It was easy with a mill and then some cold blue, but I would not want to do it by hand with a file or grinder.
I used Talley bases # 252709TS
and rings # M400004 Matte

No, they're sitting in their box in a drawer under my reloading bench......LOL

Thanks Red Leg. The mounts are Ziegler Claw Mounts and Rigby installed them during the build. So far, they have performed flawlessly.

I have a Rigby leather silent sling, but do prefer the option of quick disconnect, going back in the gun safe or the shooting bench with sand bags.
So I am now testing brass bushings for the sling swivels.
Its fun using a 5000 Lbs lathe to make a 5 grain part.

I added the blueprint for those interested.

That gold inlay really pops in the pictures - beautiful!

I had the priviledge of picking this up today :)

A 2017 HS in .275 (I installed a S&B Klassik 3-12x42 with an illuminated mildot ffp reticle on tally steel rings).

It is a standard model HS, with some provenance in that the rifle featured in the August 2019 issue of G&A (and owned by Mike Schoby).

I installed a S&B Klassik 3-12x42 an illuminated mildot ffp reticle on tally steel rings.

A rifle like this has been a dream for many years and I look forward to taking it to Limpopo next April :)

Love them! OK Skipper, how are the inserts held in place? More importantly, how do I convince you to build me a set? I can do Paypal, check, bank transfer, shameless begging - whatever.

Make that two of us! I am not too proud to beg!
