Hunting reports
Africa
1
My dad and I both hunted in Africa this year and we are talking about shipping our stuff back. Are we allowed to use the same crate to ship everything back? I’ve been hearing conflicting information some say immediate family can and some say they can’t be in the same crate. My dad only has two mounts and I will have six.

IDK about family commingle, but I do know you can just list them as one hunter’s trophies.

Split them up stateside.

Yes Husband/wife or Parent/child.
I think some operators will try to separate so as to make more $ on the D&P.

Save yourself from an agent's interpretation. Put them all under one name in one piece of paperwork. There's a horror story on here about a father and son combined shipment.

USA only husband wife or Parent Child (under 18). Canada : They can combine everything.

As noted, have outfitter list all under one name.

if that isn't an option, I'm 90% sure you can have the two crates attached to each other to form "one" for shipping purposes, but two crates with different paperwork etc. You'll still pay the 2 separate import fees etc so not as economical as listing as one person.

If the trophies were listed on the outfitters paperwork separately (by hunter) then that is how they will be delivered to the SA taxidermist, and how they will get shipped.

My buddy was having several animals shipped home back in 2022, so I had my 3 little springboks put in his crate under his name. No need to complicate things.

The way they did mine and my sons everything went on 1 license, and they labeled accordingly and I was #1 and he was #2 so when they came in, they had a tag and # written on back of mount in case tag was removed. If you did separate hunting license then I don't know as I have heard the same, but they told us we had to do it that way or ship separate.

Put one name down as the receiving party, otherwise you both will be paying separate export and broker fees.

You will be charged by two (of everything) if the trophies are treated by diferents names.
When I imported many trophies under my only name it was no problem and we save a lot.
Talk to your PH about your wishes on this matter.

Nice Report! Im about to pull the trigger on booking the LDE with Patrick. I have been talking about it with him for about 3 yrs now. Romain hit me up the other day with an offer I can't refuse for 2027.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
