Hi,

My taxidermy is completed, and now moving into the shipping part.
One crate 1.7x1.2x1.2 422kg. All finish taxidermy.
I have two quotes, SBS and Badger they are both about the same ($3,400) via Delta (Johannesburg, Atlanta, Houston).
Any feedback for either of them will be appreciated (SBS or Badger).

On a side question, since the entry point is Atlanta, will I get storage fees while waiting on clearances?

Coppersmith has handled two shipments through Atlanta with one day storage fees total.

My Cape Buffalo Euro mount shipping was $1,311.64. only animal shipped

I've used Badger before with no issues

I have used Badger twice now with no problems and good communication from Pieter, Rare Breed, did your buff come in to Atlanta on Turkish? what did they get you for in Africa for all their fees and here Customs, Fish and Wildlife and Agriculture and your importer if I may ask thanks

I had a shipment of finished taxidermy fly on Delta, JNB-ATL-IAH and used Coppersmith. No issues, but the "Flight" from ATL to IAH was actually a truck. If the crate can't fit through the cargo door of the airplane, then it can't fly. Delta apparently doesn't fly the big, wide bodies from ATL to IAH. Not a big deal, just took an extra couple days.

Picking up my crate at Coppersmith was smooth and easy.

What was the storage fees for that day?

I just got hit with $190/day in SEATAC waiting on Agriculture for 4 days. So roughly $800 for a 24" cube shaped box. Wasn't that long ago I could rent a 2 bedroom apartment for a month for that.

Have a shipment coming from Zim and being told it will take approximately one week to clear my trophies. there are two kudu and 2 Eland in one crate. In the past it has been one day. I make dangerous goods shipments that clear in a day.

Just had crates com JNB to ALT to ORD. Crates were in ATL from 11/21 thru 11/26. No storage fees in ALT. HAd 3 days in ORD though. Delta storage fees are based on weight, w/$55 min. per day. I had 2 crates and got charged the daily min. Storage fees total $165.00

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
