Hi Everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has any information on these rifles. My Dad and I have collected over the years the complete set of Ruger M77 Mark II Safari Magnum rifles that were Cabela's Special Editions. I believe they were made between 2006 and 2008. As you can see from the pictures, they have a gold lion on the 375 H&H, a cape buffalo on the 416 Rigby, and a elephant on the 458 Lott. We have tried to research them to see how many were made for the Cabela's special run of them, but have not had any luck. They are beautiful rifles. The 375 we bought new in 2007 and have bought the other two used over the years since. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Special runs are only valuable to the right person.

Whatever the going rate for a normal Ruger Safari Magnum is in the same condition, if these have nicer wood and good engraving you could probably plus it up 10-30%.

Maybe more to the right buyer.

Never heard of them. There were a lot of special Cabelas rifles in those days. I think the Jack O'Connor limited edition M70's and Sako 75's or 80's that looked like the Pre-Garcia Sakos were also available at that time.

Ruger should have that number.
Yes I would call Ruger, or possibly the Ruger Collectors Association.
.
There is another website out there that is a Forum for Rugers. Search those terms.

I remember seeing a 375 and 416 at my local Cabelas years ago. The engraving and gold inlay was nice for a rifle from a major manufacturer.

Do all RSMs have animals engraved in gold on the floor plate?? I thought this was standard on RSMs. My 375 has a lion.

I believe my Dad tried calling Ruger several years ago about it and didn't get anywhere at that time, but probably worth trying them again. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have all 3 of those plus several others without any engraving. No idea how many were made but if anyone finds out, please post here on this thread!

I’m envious of you bob! I love those guns, I’m sorry I cannot tell you how many were made. I only hope I can find one someday.

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
