I recently acquired a new to me rifle with a Redfield 70 Peep Sight. The problem I'm having is the aperture is so tiny I can't get a proper sight picture. I've read 1/8 Id is the standard for hunting but can't seem to locate any replacement. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Tha ks!

Carefully drill it out one size at a time untill you get the sight picture you prefer.

I believe that sight has a screw in aperture. For hunting you can unscrew and remove the aperture which leaves an about 1/8" threaded hole. That seems really large but the eye naturally centers.

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if I could drill it ,but I moved up a little at a time and got a much better sight picture. Thanks again for the advice.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
