Hallo,
I am planning to video our hunt. Does anyone know of a good quality camcorder? We do have a camcorder, but I would like to get a better one to post our hunt video. Ours uses the small tapes that can not be converted or played in any recorder, it has to be hooked up to the tv to play the tapes.
What do other people use to record their hunts?
I have a good camera and and will probably pick up one more SD card before we go. I may take my computer along to down load photos, but that is a ways off and who knows what could happen before that - like maybe a new computer :)
Dankie

Go Digital all the way!
Memory is cheap, bring lots!

Better to look up some specialty review sites and determine your budget range.

Good luck..

I have a Sony Handycam HDR-CX130 with a 42x extended zoom.
So far I am very happy with it.
It is small and light, so it is easy to bring with you while hunting.
It takes good video and you can zoom much, so you can get very good films of animals far away as long as you keep it steady.
It has a function to help you keeping it steady, but at 42x zoom it is good to support your hand or use a tripod for it.

I recommend you using an external microphone if you want to get really good sound(this goes for all small camcorders).
Also make sure to have lots of memory cards and at least one extra battery with you.

I am going to bring mine when I go to SA this year and I hope to make lots of nice videos with it:)

Brick - I am absolutely going digital. With a couple extra sd cards.

Norwegian - Thanks for the great advise. I like how small that camera is. I will also check out the external microphone. I will be putting them on my Amazon wish list :)

We have using the GO Pro for some airboat hunts the thing is cheap rugged and wide angle lens, I also the Sony HD with 40GB hard drive with night vision makes great moves but the Sony program is a pain to edit

I using the Louis Van Bergen camera on my hunt, I going to let PH worry about camera and I going to worry about shooting that Lion before he grabs my flip flops, Godd luck with your hunt.

Hi PaulB. Would you be interested in another WJ Jeffery .450/.400 NE 3". It's an extractor model and in superb condition, cased as well. Made in 1908. The rifle is here in Texas.
