Yep, that’s why our central government is a representative republic, but the dems want to turn it into a pure democracy by getting rid of the electoral college.A democracy always gets the government it deserves

That’s why I have zero sympathy for Palestinians. They elected Hamas and are wholly responsible for consequences of Hamas’ actions.A democracy always gets the government it deserves
The problem is schools have taught kids that we are supposed to be a democracy and not a republic. And most people have no clue what the difference is.Unfortunately there are people that are so sold on the idea of "Democracy", that if 51% of the population voted to kill the other 49%, they'd be just fine with that.
That is not how America or heck even England was intended to be designed. That’s more of an Athens/ French idea. Neither historically faired well for long.Yes, each person gets one vote along with that comes outcomes from.those decisions. I do not like many of the outcomes but the world does not ask for permission from me any more than it asks you.if the outcomes are not too your liking work to change them.
I only get one ballot to choose who I think is a better candidate. That is not how America or heck even England was intended to be designed. That’s more of an Athens/ French idea. Neither historically faired well for long.
Republics were designed to protect or give representation to minority rights.
Who you might only agree with 60% of the timeI only get one ballot to choose who I think is a better candidate.
As they say ,"Identify the problem, improvise a solution , and overcome" reminds me of a marine on the wwII pacific islands who did a job on their ma duce increaseing the rate of fire by several hundred per minute. For those that think the U.S. Military is synonymous with Government waste or as wasteful as politicians and their pet project NGO scams.
The reality is that in the trenches, the military is always streamlining, improving processes and procedures. And awarding those that improve processes.
This example isn’t new or rare, the scale may be but the continuous improvement is not.

sure but the party that you do not like regardless of political persuasion can’t wipe out the losing side. And even in blue or red states there are congressman and representatives of the opposing side. If we were a pure democracy then we would vote as a collective on each issue and the results would be final.I only get one ballot to choose who I think is a better candidate.
So if 51% of the people who voted were to vote for the end of hunting or some other bad decision or a poor candidate then it’s just fine with you because that was their choice, even if a terrible choice? Good to know.
It’s no worse than forcing out a rookie MP of a riding you live across the country from when you can’t even win your own seat as a party leader.Especially when you add in floor crossing like what happens here in Canada, you can elect a mp with a mandate as a conservative expecting him to vote a certain way based on the wishes of his constituents and then he can just turn around sell out and cross the floor becoming a liberal. But hey so far it’s only cost us in his riding the first week of our lobster season one of the few profitable weeks we rely on to make our years wages.

Personally, I believe all parties should be disbanded and every MP should be an independent working for their riding, and their riding alone.
But I am genuinely curious how a floor crossing would cost a week of lobster season. Wouldnt quotas and such be set already?
Do the lobster move around seasonally where a week difference will make a difference in harvest numbers? Realistically if they don’t, you push the season back a week that just means you just offset your income a week. Unless there are some sort of market factors I don’t know about. We don’t have quotas we’re in a derby season, meaning the season is open for so long and you catch all you can during that time period. Our season has always run from the last Monday in November until the end of may which in theory is a 6 month season in practice we’ve basically got the weeks leading up to Christmas to make 75% or so of our yearly income. The liberals have just pushed through new regulations which change our opening date to Dec 1 thus costing us a week of fishing ( although not every year it depends on the how the calendar works out ). One Chris crossing the floor and becoming a liberal help carney to buy the majority that allows fisheries to push changes through like that and two it removed a voice from here that should of been speaking out against the changes.
When you’ve got roughly 40 days to make most of your years wages a few days matter. Some years we do have a few profitable weeks in the spring depending on water temperatures but that is not something you can bet on.
That is also no guarantee we get to set the 1st of December, we can’t legally leave the wharf to set gear until such time as the forecast gives 12 consecutive hours with the wind below 25 which is a challenge in its self in December. I’ve seen years we set a week late due to weather.

I appreciate the explainationLobsters go lethargic as the water cools which it does rapidly in December/january the first week of December we’ll catch 3-4 thousand pounds a haul by the first week of January it’ll be down to 2-3 hundred also the Christmas asianic Market is one of the biggest consumers of live lobster.
Catch is completely controlled by water temperatures which is why I said you can’t depend on getting a spring fishery some years we do good some years we barely cover the fuel and bait in the spring.
Loosing a week in the fall is on average probably 12-15 thousand dollar for the average hired man.

Says the crybaby that's too chicken to debate me himself. You may as well give it up. He’s scared of your question because it points out the fallacy of his beliefs.
Please show me which elected Democrats (house, senate, president) or appointed (any branch of government) are advocating for Socialism and/or Communism...At some point you need to put down the remote and stop listening to whatever right-wing propaganda you're watching and rejoin the real world. Go outside and touch some grass, drinking this much kool-aid is not good for anyone. They only pander taxing the rich during elections. This is a political slogan the Democrats use to get your vote. Those same democrats are going to increase their taxes on themselves, because they are rich as well! I’m sure you remember the BLM (black lives matter) movement. They ran on that for along time and still nothing happened for the black community, apparently it got worse. So in the end these are just slogans they use to win your vote. The last democrat to every tell the truth was Bill Clinton, when he pointed pass Monica at a different women and said “I did not have sexual relations with that woman”. Unfortunately the Democrat party of old is gone and Americans have no choice anymore but to vote for Republicans. I refuse to vote for socialist or communist.
Real clever, there are no nationally elected D's because we don't nationally elect anyone. (President is elected by the Electoral College and the States elects Electors to the College.) There are lots of Representative and Senator candidates who do at the state level. Nice try. Please show me which nationally elected Democrats are advocating for Socialism and/or Communism...At some point you need to put down the remote and stop listening to whatever right-wing propaganda you're watching and rejoin the real world. You seem to forget about the "Unite the Right" Klan rally under Trump's first administration. You should wonder down to your local clan chapter and put yourself on the docket, those guys are already prejudice so it’s only left for you to convince them that the “rich” are the real problem. You can use your views on the Jews to bridge the gaps….
