All the Trump stuff is sort of interesting...but to me how does this pan out?.....said in the past about usd to brics....etc etc....been poo poohed that usd will not be replaced.....think a bit of the emperors new clothing comes into it.......or delusions of grandeur.....

While I am all in favour of this kind of strike, it will only be. meaningful if the Nigerian government follows up with proper COIN on the ground. I am not sure we will see that unfortunately.

Yes indeed, the US has been active in Nigeria for a long time. I lived and worked in Lagos for 6 years. On Thursday evenings, the social club at the American Consultant had Tex Mex night. One night, I got to chatting with a couple of guys from the US. Both were military advisors and we left it at that. They both looked like special ops guys, straight out of central casting. It turned out one of them went to the same high school in Louisiana as my daughters.
I am a US citizen and disabled Amercan veteran. I still vote in every Montana federal election (but not municipal or state). I deserve that right. More importantly, I want to be able to prove to my great grandkids that I didn't vote for this "disturbing" jerk. I did my part to make the US respectable again.

Trump has many demonstrable flaws but the weird dichotomy his worst detractors have of believing he is simultaneously an ineffectual nincompoop while also attributing to him Godlike powers like the ability to “destroy humanity” is tiresome.
Well, I think it was an Act of Congress, in I think 1964, named it the Kennedy Center as a memorial to the late President, which I think is fine. I also think it probably means that legally you cannot change the name without new legislation.Or better yet, go apolitical and push to change it back to its ORIGINAL name, National Cultural Center

What? We are no longer living in the Cold War. The one president who actually deserves genuine credit for dodging nuclear war is the guy whose name was on the Center for Arts in NYC ... before Trump vandalized it. Trump deserves credit for ... nothing. He's been a failure economically and diplomatically and domestically. But he thinks blaming everything happening now on Biden somehow changes reality. And hanging that huge banner of himself next to one of Lincoln on the DOA building. How utterly laughable. Lincoln was an absolute amazing people manager. He was thrown into a completely unmanageable situation and got the country through it. Trump tries to create unmanageable situations out if thin air to make himself look heroic resolving them (e.g. his discovering an imaginary cure for an imaginary autism epidemic or threatening to annex Greenland "one way or another" for imaginary reasons of national security). Trump couldn't manage a free lunch. And that birthday parade farce. What next? By 2027 he will probably have declared himself creator of the universe. It would not surprise me! Personally Trump is an embarrassment. He's a philanderer who routinely cheats on his wives, trash talks women, publicly uses foul language, and he lies ... a LOT. And the lies are always whoppers. Ridiculous incredulous whoppers. But you know, all that really doesn't matter because he's avoided nuclear war which really wasn't eminent anyway. Yep, he also kept the world from being destroyed by an asteroid. We should give him a medal for that. But better hurry ... before he gives it to himself first.
