PHASA meeting 13-15 Nov updates (Professional Hunters Association of South Africa)

Hi Gents

Im attending the Phasa meeting and AGM this year thought I would share a few updates as the meeting goes on

meeting is well attended nature conservation departments are here from the main hunting provinces also SCI, Conservation force and DSC


1. Hunting contributes $2.5 Billion to tourism ever year on average, in Southern Africa

2. There was a rise of 17% in tourists traveling to South Africa from 2024 to 2025 season

3. 1.1 milion morę tourists traveled to South Africa in 2025

4. impala and blesbok is the most hunted species

5. most money earned though by Buffalo and kudu

6. little over 5000 hunters visited South Africa mostly Americans.

day is 2 is a go, we had a fun evening last night!

We got allot more stats yesterday will post more when I get a chance

Today we got feedback on the work the PHASA foundation is doing please support the foundation they are doing allot for research and promoting hunting in South Africa,

did you guys know that if you hunt with Phasa member $10 from every animal hunted will go to the Foundation?

Hunting outfitters and the foundation also donated 1.5 tons of game meat to an elderly home for poor people and a Children's home and donated money to several good causes.

PHASA has an “international” membership that hunters can join.. it’s inexpensive (about $50 IIRC) and you get emails, newsletters, updates, etc.. and your money goes toward an organization that supports our sport, participates in conservation, etc… I’ve held an international membership for a few years.. it’s money well spent IMO..
