Out of space for trophies advice/suggestions?

Good suggestion, but functionally, the floor space is mostly occupied either by furniture, mounts on the floor and mounts above.

There is house in my neighborhood that on a “spring or fall evening”, the garage door is up.

There is cigar smoke escaping from inside the garage.

3 or 4 shoulder mounts on the wall and a flat screen.

That will be my next move along with being selective about additional trophies.

One option may be to sell or donate some of the ones that were probably too small or crappy looking to mount but you did so for some reason anyway - I think we all probably have a couple of those. It depends if you can part with memories; it can be hard.

As to photos, I guess I have a different view than many here. I feel like just taking a photo is taking a life for very little tangible gain. The fact I can't take meat home already puts me at unease that I'm being wasteful (although I know someone eventually will eat it). Taking a picture and leaving everything else behind makes me feel that more wasteful.

Another option going forward would be hunting via a different method - iron sights or bow. It is a lower success rate (which fills up a wall slower) and is more challenging.

I am currently facing a similar situation. We are looking to either move or do a major remodel to our existing home. It’s amazing how fast 5 trips to Africa can fill up a home with taxidermy.

I'd say use your half of the bedroom and then learn to enjoy sleeping on the couch
That could be a solution. For one or two weeks (until the next trash collection) I could admire it at the bottom of the dumpster. Then it would be gone forever. :)

Rent a warehouse space. Put in a bar, big screen TV, a Lazy Boy and couch. Port-a-poty in the corner. Open the fridge and grab a beer.:rolleyes:
Lease a Hotel where the trophies suit the decor, find a good accountant so collections trophies for the business is tax deductible.
No one in the family will complain about being burdened with a hotel after the wake and the trophies are immortalised.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
