Ordered a Parkwest Arms today!

Your rifle will be one gorgeous piece when done. Your wife is a saint for buying the rifle blank!

After talking to the wife, I decided that I will add the color case hardening to the rifle!
Very wise choice. Most of the upgrades are very reasonable for the quality of the end product.

I took the plunge and ordered a Parkwest Arms Dark Continent 404 Jeffrey today! So far the only options I added are, two panel bolt handle checkering, wrap around grip checkering, and my initials engraved on the stock medallion. I will be sending them a very nice stock blank my wife purchased for me as a Christmas gift for the stock. I may add color case hardening, but still thinking about what other options I might add. It's going to be a long year waiting for it to be completed!
I think you will like the color case hardening. I met Steve from Parkwest at the airport in Capetown flying into Windhoek. When we got to Windhoek and were getting our rifle permits, I got to check out his rifle with the color case hardening. The whole rifle looked great, but I really like the look of the coloring.

I'm also adding jeweled bolt, Nitre blue extractor, trigger, and small parts upgrade. Still trying to decide if I want to stay with the standard Matt finish or upgrade to satin bluing on the barrel.

The wife made the suggestion that I should spend the extra money and have the rifle built the way I want, as I may never get the opportunity to have another one built!

Thats great man!
I just ordered a Dark Continent from them in May. I asked that it be ready no later than Sept. 2027 so quite the wait but worth it. I have a Moz buffalo hunt in 2028 and I will take that rifle. Chambered in 375H&H, the Special Select wood (the top one), three panel checkering on the bolt, checkering wrap over grip and high polish finish. I figure this an heirloom rifle for my family, I will just use it for a mere 30 years and then the other generations will take it over. I will not baby it either, first the Moz hunt and then on to other hunts. Cheers

I wish it would have been daylight so I could have seen his rifle in the light to see that better and describe the contrast in reciever and what bluing it had for you. Too bad it was 8:30 at night when I saw their work. Even in airport lights after dark that was a work of art

I don't live to far from Sturgis SD, so sometime in July I'm going to drive down there and deliver the stock blank to them! When I'm there I'm going too check out all there options and see what they look like in person!

Had this one done about a year ago
Excellent work and service

Very nice! What calibers did you choose for that setup?

That's awesome! I was going to go tour Parkwest when I did a job in Rapid City last fall but we had someone else do it since we were busy other places when it was ready. You'll have to let us know how the tour goes.

Attached are a couple pictures of that rifle. Steve went with the matte blue finish. I also attached a close up picture of a different rifle with the polish blue finish for reference.
