greetings- loved the pictures . Museum followed by a few blue ribbon steaks is hard to beat. Kudos to your brother for picking some real highlights. Many of the African species (including the elephants) were taken by Teddy Roosevelt personally. I believe the moose may be his trophies. The original paintings used for the african dioramas hang in the explorers club. The artist joined on one of the expeditions. jaw dropping when seen up close.
NY is a great walking city-I usually meet visitors in grand central terminal and take 4 or 5 express subway downtown to brooklyn bridge station (in manhattan) . you can walk across the brooklyn bridge into brooklyn, or walk uptown (north) past court houses where some of the police dramas are filmed in into the chaos of chinatown , continue north thru soho and greenwich village ending up in washington square park. I live here and for me it packs a ton of variety and NYC authenticity into a a single half day jaunt.
cheers
