New Stock for CZ 550

I have a 375 and 7x57 CZ 550 that function flawlessly. I just want to dress them up with fancier wood sticks. Im looking for recommendations on custom wood stocks, or CZ fancy stocks.

Boyd’s stocks are a nice product at a good price. I have one on a cz 9.3x62 and 30-06. I have been well pleased with both.

Both were purchased used. The 06 had a synthetic stock and the 9.3 had a Mickey Mouse aberration for recoil reduction. Both shot well restocked and have been to Africa.

R J Renner can re-shape and re-finish the factory stocks and you might surprised at the grain that's underneath the factory finish. His prices aren't bad either.

yes, I had RJ do my 416 CZ. Went in as ugly ducking and came back….you know the story. He is in Nv.

You have a fun challenge ahead of you in selecting a stock or stockmaker. The first question is are you looking for a walnut (Black, english, turkish etc) or a laminated stock? Looking for a finished stock or are you going to fit it from one of the stocks that boyds or Richards Microfit sell? Are you looking for a stock maker that will make and fit the stock to your exact fit? What is the budget? That last one will drive many of the above question you will need to answer to lay out your requirements.

There also is a possibility of the grain popping on the CZ stocks with a finish job. They are Turkish Walnut after all. I have contemplated stripping and oiling my 550, once I get the process down better
