New lipsey's ruger alaskan bush rifle in 9.3x62 and 35 whelen

I have attempted a 25/100 yard zero for my 9.3x62. It is dead on with regard to windage and 3" low with Geco 255gr ammo. Ballistic tables indicate it should be .25" high at 25 yards for a 100 yard zero. When I called Ruger for a shorter front sight blade, their work from home, incompetent service guy parroted "we can only send you a replacement blade that is the same size as the one on the rifle". Or, of course, they will send you a pick-up label to send it back to them and they will fix it - after I run the risk of having it stolen, or it being smashed going to Ruger and coming back. No, thanks! I will put int the NECG replacement front site blade when it comes in from Midway 12DEC25. I don't think it is too much to expect a rifle with an MSRP of $1,640 to be better regulated, and to not have a John Deer repair approach when it comes to a front sight blade!
Serious question, but how do you expect a rifle to be regulated perfectly for the one specific load you want to use in the gun?

Correct, they are dovetail.

Try Alaskan arms they make 30mm rings for M77
I put Warne QD rings on my 9.3x62 Alaskan and .35 Whelen African, so I could theoretically switch to iron sights.

How do you like those? Did you test if they hold zero?

Now if a run of 338-06 weee made I would get one .

No kidding! I’d love a 338-06. I have been debating building one for a while, but first I need another 9.3x62…….

Sweet, can you post a video of installing the floor plate?

Those light primer strikes on your video are one of the main reasons I won't ever hunt with factory ammo in a .35 Whelen. I have seen it in multiple rifles and multiple ammo brands. I handload everything for hunting. It is a non issue on handloads with fired brass from your chamber as long as one doesn't bump the shoulder back too much. I tend to neck size or partial FL resize.

Been hearing a lot of complaints about the poor regulation with the irons on these. Very dissapointing as they are basically just decorative at some point.

Thanks for checking it out. And yes I’ll be loading ammo for this to hunt with next fall. Hope I can figure out these sights soon.

My only light primer strikes were with Remington corelokt in 300 wm and the company sent me a free box of ammo back through the mail. It might be the ammo

Review after my first shots with this rifle.

It's not just the 35 Whelen that has this issue and it has nothing to do with the rifle. Remington ammo is currently junk. Over the last couple months I've seen this issue with a dozen different cartridges and it's always with the Remington ammo, usually Corelokts.

The sight regulation does seem to be an unfortunate issue and while the rifle is costly enough that you wouldn't expect that, Ruger will make it right free of charge and they will be great guns. Thankfully all you righties will get the issue figured out with them by the time Lipsey works out a deal for the lefties! :ROFLMAO:

Yeah bummer about Remington ammo. Haha. Hopefully once there is a lefty its perfect!

@MidboreOutdoors thanks for the well done video. Just a suggestion, before you go to the expense of a Timney trigger, try changing the trigger spring. The Ruger LC6 trigger is very simple and putting a lighter trigger spring in is a $10 and 10 minute job.

Google “Ernie the gunsmith” for the spring.

Give us an update on the iron sights, if you come up with a solution.

Yep we used that same model Warn on my buddies M70 and they are solid.

I just don’t like vertical rings, but I admit Warn has great quality.
