Just got my copy of this new book the other day. Its a real nostalgia trip for me having hunted with one of the main characters, Willie Engelbrecht. He is described almost exactly as I knew him when we hunted together in 1990. Wild, profane, opinionated, "hates tape measures", excellent PH and well respected among his peers. Not the easiest guy in the world to work with but certainly memorable! The author of the book hunted with Willie several times and established a long term relationship with him whereas I only hunted with him once and I admit at the time I figured once was probably enough! But that hunt in the Okavango was by any measure the most exciting and adventurous of my safari's to date and hunting with one of the old pro's certainly was a highlight. Anyone else have a copy of this coming from Safari Press?

No, but the next time I make a order to Safari Press, I will look for the book!

no i do not...

Got it, a very good read

I wanted to thank you for the nice review. Steve died last year. I prefer to believe that he and Willie, Old Man Wally and numerous other friends are reunited and now having the greatest of all adventures. Reading the two books that Steve wrote brings many fond memories. As Steve often said, "always keep the company of those who seek adventure." Many happy adventures to you all. Sheryl Christenson

Sheryl, I am very sorry to hear of this, I had no idea. Steve and I had some email contact a couple of years ago, in fact he had asked me to contribute to his book, but then I never heard back. Very sorry for your loss.

Thank you, Scott. We miss him more than words can adequately express. But, he left us with so many beautiful memories. I will go through his old emails and find your correspondence. Was he speaking to you about his second book or the book he was writing on rifles?

Hi Sheryl, it was the rifle book. I sent you a pm.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
