It is with a heavy heart that I'm posting this. Kali our lovely German Shephard will be taking her last ride and visit to the vet this afternoon. Since last Thursday she has not been eating and only drinking water. Had a visit with the Vet on Tuesday and her Thyroid numbers were not good. However, her hips and back legs have steadily been going from bad to worst. Today, she went outside and fell in our patio, she couldn't get up and she soiled herself. Her quality of life is no longer there, and hate to see her suffer like that. I hope and pray to God that I am making the right decision. She was a wonderful and grateful dog, and she gave us 5 wonderful years. Please keep us in your thoughts & prayers while we go through this difficult time.

What a beautiful dog and my sincere condolences to you and your family. This is never easy having been through it myself (as many others have). But with the passage of time--and it will take some time--you will smile more than be sad when remembering her. And you'll realize we are the ones who have the hardest time saying goodbye to our friends, when we rationally know it is time, for their health and sake, to let them go. Hang in there and thanks for sharing a very personal post.

Wow she's beautiful. We will keep, Mrs. Para and Kali in our Prayers. Hope your heart heals soon and you can find a new companion not to replace but to fill in.

My condolences. I put my mcnab, Jake down on August 8th of 2020 at 4:30PST. I know this time as I do every other time I had to put one down. I give them the very best while they are here. I am truly sorry for your loss. They become such a part of our lives that when they leave, they leave a hole.

Sorry to hear this. Dogs occupy a space in our hearts that can't be filled by anything else. You are making the right decision, been there, it's hard. Prayers for you and your family.

Sorry to hear this. Dogs are truly a gift from God. Stay strong and my condolences.

It is very tough to say goodbye to a good dog. They are loyal and love unconditionally. People can learn a lesson from dogs.

A good dog is a gift and member of your family. The last ride comes all too quickly. My wife and I have been through it a few times in our 50 years together.
You have my sincere condolences.

So sorry to hear! When we pick up a puppy, we know in our minds that this day will come. And it never fails to surprise us and pain us deeply. Best wishes to you and the family. Heal a bit and go buy another! Dogs are a part of our lives.

Peace be with you. I had to put down my 2 beloved Golden Retrievers. I would rather eat a bowl full of broken glass than to ever have to do that again. Kali will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. Peace.

What a beautiful girl. Yes, you’re making the right decision, one we’ve done several times before unfortunately, all the signs are there. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Sounds like you are doing the right thing for your pup. Always sorry to see news like this. Stay strong.

I know that no words can console you right now, but I know exactly how you feel, @PARA45

I’m a huge German Shepherd lover and my family has always had one since I was born. I still have a sable colored nine year old male now, and my furry friend means everything to me. Their deaths are never easy. But you’re doing the noble thing by putting her out of her misery.

There’s just something about German Shepherds. Maybe it’s the big ears or the fluffy tail or their never ending curiosity. I don’t know. But you can never be even remotely angry at them, for some reason.

@PARA45 Im very sorry to see this today. She looks like an excellent girl and I'd bet you've been blessed by your time with her...and her with you. Theres never a day when doing what you are doing is going to feel great, but your rationale on doing the best thing for her is spot on. You're doing it out of love. Make sure she sees and smells you last when she makes her journey.

Man I hate to hear this kind of news, like others I’ve been there too and know all of the emotions you and your wife are going through right now. She is a beautiful girl and I hope you have many wonderful memories for years to come whenever you think of her or see a picture. Prayers for you in the next few days as you turn around looking for her and realize she is no longer there with you.

I am so sorry. Having to make that decision is one of the hardest decisions and things I have ever had to do. I feel your pain and all I can tell you is know that your gave her a good life and if she could tell you that, she would. Prayers to you and your family.

You absolutely are making the right decision for her though it pains you. She's given her unconditional love and her presence to you and any faithful pup family knows its so one sided as we know one day we need to let that go for their ultimate good.
I always say to grieve for your pup like you would any immediate family member. One needs that time though few like to admit it.
Thoughts and prayers with you on this road.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
