More problems with the Germans and held three hours for not having proper permit

I have had my issues flying with guns but nothing like some of the above!! Yikes!! Most trouble I have had recently was departing Windhoek, got into a snarl with the officious lady at the departure gate about the stupid customs forms:mad:. I could have avoided it easily enough but my mouth kept going after my brain said shut the hell upo_O:eek:. We avoided arrest anyway, lol. I should probably change my name if I go again....

I was taught what sounds like a good way to to deal with those kinds of people while I was in Argentina. Reportedly, the country was so rife with petty official nonsense that the locals found a way to deal with it. The idea was "you're the boss". The person who is behaving that way obviously needs to have control over others. Just let them have their control and feel good about themselves then go on to your good life and let her get back to her miserable existence. Apparently, by choosing to let them be the boss for the brief time, you get less pissed about it since it is your choice to manipulate the person rather than you giving in to the person.

I'll let you know if it works when I get a chance to try it.

My big mistake was asking "why" apparently. I asked why did we have to fill out the same form that we entered with - again? That I guess is a no no, as the lady got highly incensed that I should have the audacity to ask "why". LOL.

The answer to your question is "she's the boss". I think those Argentines may be onto something!

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….

I'd like to get some too.

My wife (a biologist, like me) had to have a melanoma removed from her arm last fall.
