Yeah, the story of my life.

Oh, look a gun. Oh, sh*t, but I'm broke.:cry:

Yea...and the older I get...the more I want expensive high quality guns instead of just buying your typical factory rifle....

Me too. Not necessarily expensive, but top quality.

While I agree that “top quality” is the goal not “expensive”, what I tend to deem “top quality” usually tends to be expensive. At least when compared to the standard factory rifles that I used to buy when I was younger.

And of course, this forum does not help our cause. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Exactly lol. This place has helped me separate a lot of my money from my bank account.

Hmmm…..this sounds very familiar in my house as well!
Gee Sue, maybe hat could be your next book!

"Cries of the Empty Wallet"

I think that it would sell to AH members. Oh, the cruel pinch of want!

Oh my gosh Doug! That made me laugh out loud. Yes, it would be a LONG book...even longer than Cries of the Savanna. LOL.

Joining this forum has been the single worst financial decision I ever made.
But finances aside, it is also one of the most enjoyable and enriching places I have discovered.

This made me laugh out loud. I’m glad you are enjoying the sight even though it is costing you a lot of money!

Never cross the threshold and start building your own "high quality" guns.. That depletes the wallet faster than anything..

I cant tell you how many rifles I've invested $2.5-$3.5K into at this point.. that would probably retail for $1.5K once they are finished products lol...

Financially I would have been better off just buying a really nice factory rifle to start with..

Lot of truth there.

I just am at the point that I love having my rifles hand built just for me by people that are super focused on accuraccy.

My latest rifle is a Pre-64 Model 70, pulled the stock and barrel off, had a custom Carbon Fiber stock made by Brown Precision (Mark Brown is great) and Mark put on a match grade barrel. The action is blueprinted when the new barrel was installed. Total cost was $3600 (built on my action). I sold the original stock and barrel and got a little money back on that but still a lot more than walking into Cabelas and buying a Model 70 Classic with CRF.

I just am at the point that I have sold most of my "factory" rifles. And won't buy another. I don't care what the resale value is because I will use my current rifles till I die and then they are all going to my son anyway.
