Looking for a rear backup peep sight option that doesn't require it to be carried off rifle. Just not sure how distracting it would be on the bolt while operating it.

It’s a remake of the Rigby peep sight. The Rigby is a great sight. It perhaps increases the lock time, but I’ve never found that to be an issue. The Rigby is graduated along the circumference for range/distance. I’m not sure about this one. That needs to be done specific to caliber/rifle.

Thanks, is it distracting for it to be moving back and forth in front of your eye while operating the bolt?

I had one on a RJ Renner Ruger Rigby. It's a great sight, but I found it got in the way of the safety. It might be better with a different safety system, but that was my experience. YMMV.
