Good day members, I am in need of information regarding the 1871 Black powder single shot Mauser I have. Here are photos of the rifle as well as markings on the rifle . Please assist??
I really browsed the internet to search for a photo like my rifle but to no avail.

Dear Gert....
Your rifle has the action of the M1888 commission rifle and a barrel for the the 11,15x60R, aka .43 Mauser cartridge.
This cartridge was the cartridge for the M1871 Mauser rifle too.
On top of both pictures the M1888, below the M1871.

Thank you HWL it is much appreciated. Here is a video of what my little black powder rifle is about. I shot it today, it is extremely accurate. I am awaiting paper patched bullets from Hansie Minnaar then I will re load and shoot it to show the tight groupings . I want to group on 100meters . The front sight post is too fine for me so I want to replace it with a larger brass bead .

Another piece of the puzzle here in this video as you pointed out HWL
If members have brass available for me to purchase please let me know. I am making this rifle my primary hunting rifle and my Martini Henry my second hunting rifle ..

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
