While I was in the gun safe grabbing my Model 30 for my other thread, I figured I would pull out another gun that seems to have small dedicated following in the Bushcraft crowd at least the Springfield Armory M6 Scout.
It is a copy of the M6 Aircrew Survival Weapon. While they were originally made in .22 Hornet over .410, CZ made them for Springfield Armory in .22lr, .22mag, and .22 hornet over .410. While the originals had I believe a 14 inch barrel these have an 18” 1/4 to meet NFA standards. They are neat little guns full of features such as a flip sight, peep for the rifle barrel, V notch for the .410, ammo storage in the stock, and the ability to come apart with the removal of the pivot point pin. They have a squeeze style trigger originally meant to be used in cold weather environments with gloves but takes some getting used to. The rifle barrel shoots very well, while the.410 pattern leaves alot to be desired. I have shot a few grouse with it, but you have to be close. Anybody else have one?

. I too have been looking for a.22 hornet to add to my collection but, it has never been a priority l, so I won’t buy it unless it’s a deal. The paracord keeps me more steady when I am facing off with a crafty and dangerous grouse
