Looking for next watch, what do you think of Omega planet ocean?

beautiful and extremely well made watch....

there are a lot of variations of the planet ocean.. different color faces and bezels.. different bands.. etc..

If you can afford one, figure out which version suits you best, and go for it.. it will last you a lifetime..

they wont retain their value like a rolex submariner will... but.. cost to entry is a significant bit lower.. and honestly, the Omega is every bit as "good" in terms of quality of the build, quality of the movement, etc as the Rolex (some would say Omega is actually superior)..

I think it hits the sweet spot for price and quality.

But what ever you do. Don’t ask BeeMaa

I recently bought an Omega Railmaster. Absolutely stellar watch.

They are great watches! I have had one for many years and enjoy wearing it still. It has performed flawlessly!

It should be noted, however, that they are thicker and sit higher on the wrist than other popular sports watches, such as the Rolex Submariner or Explorer. It is something to consider if you plan to wear it while hunting as it may be more bulky than you want while carrying a gun.

Mine has been an excellent purchase.

I've had it about 6 years now. It works flawlessly, it's very well made, it's very accurate, even compared to my Milgauss or my Grand Seiko, and it's pretty much bombproof. The sapphire case back is a nice touch and it's a very pretty movement.

As mentioned by a few others, they are chunky pieces, so I'd try one on before you buy.

Mine (Plant Ocean 600M Chronograph) is really the absolute limit I can get away with before it starts looking a little silly for my wrist size.

They sit quite high as well, so not ideal for smart casual with a long sleeve shirt, or for a suit and tie type application. Black tie is completely out. With a t shirt, a short sleeved polo, a loose sweatshirt, hunting clothes, most jackets, it's absolutely fine though. Tool watch aesthetics basically dictate that use case anyway.

I have had an Omega Seamaster of some flavor over the last 25 years. They are great watches. Still sick I sold my ploprofs.

I've had one for about 4 months now. I could not be happier. You do need a bigger wrist, otherwise it does look too bulky. It goes everywhere with me, every single day. Still need to go have a hunt together though. But that is being organised.

Guilty as charged for assisting several members in the purchasing of quality timepieces…and yes, most of them have been Omega.

I’m currently at work fixing commercial boilers wearing a 2013 Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 42mm.

Watches like the Rolex Sub and Omega Seamaster are tool watches that are made to be worn daily, even in the harshest environments. You would not go wrong with either, but my preference is for the Omega.

Send a DM if you want to talk.

Case size - 40mm with fit almost any wrist with ease. 42mm is what I have and perfect for me. I’ve tried on a 44mm and it looks like a dinner plate strapped to my arm…not good. @VertigoBE has the circumference to carry the larger PO. I’d highly recommend trying them on before buying something online and possibly being disappointed.

I currently have a 42 mm case diver watch and I like it. I’ve looked at several watches and prefer a higher end sport watch like a Rolex or Omega.

Kidding of course. Just trying to live vicariously.
