I was out prepping with my old Model 70 300 Weatherby for an upcoming elk hunt in the rockies in British Columbia. The gun wears a high power leupold vx-6 that's probably 10+ years old at least. I realized as I shoot that I'm missing turret cap. No clue when or how I lost it.
On following business day, called Leupold and told them I needed to buy one. Give the guy serial number, he tells me what I need, asks for my address, etc. Then he says goodbye and i stop him. I told him I never gave him a credit card for payment. He said it would be no charge. Then he said he'd also send a 2nd one so both caps match!
I own over 45 leupold scopes and have never had to call customer service-thats how good their stuff has been for me. But to replace a part for free that I LOST--not their fault at all--is unprecedented service in this day in age (lifetime warranty or not).
I wasn't intending on switching brands anyway, but they got a "lifer" for that experience.
