Hi

Fortunately I managed to buy a very lovely Mauser Peruvian Modelo 1909, nearly in original condition, only the cleaning rod is missing.

It was made in Oberndorf, the serial number is 172XX.

Is anyone out there who can provide some more details regarding Peruvian Mausers?

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Thank you for the answer.

I already watched this video and there is a lot of general information. But e.g. which rifles (serial number based) were built in which year etc is missing.

Approximately 50.000 Modelo 1909 rifles were bought by the Peruvian government between 1910 and 1914. So I guess that building the rifles with a serial number 17.200 and above would have taken place in 1911 or 1912... but I don't know

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
