In memoriam - Willy BLOMME has passed away

A great figure of big game hunting in Africa has just passed away. Think of him and his family. Prayers

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of
MR.Willy Blomme born in Ronse on May 4, 1933 and died in Frasnes-lez-Buissenal on October 14, 2025.
The funeral, followed by burial, will be celebrated at the Saint-Michel Church in Saint-Sauveur,
on Saturday, October 25 at 11 a.m. Gathering at the church.
A final visitation may be held at the André Vanhole Funeral Center in Frasnes-lez-Buissenal.
The family thanks Dr. Dupire and all those who supported and cared for him over the past few years. His children Viviane, Michaël, and Alexis Dandois-Blomme

It's possible that many people don't know him, because for some of us, and for me too, he was a well-known PH who was active in the seventies to the nineties, above all in the RCA. Harald Wolf in the HATARI TIMES also quoted Willy Blomme several times, especially because he used a classic Jeffery double rifle caliber 500 Nitro Express. I have not heard from him in the last 20 years. Maybe he was no longer active due to his great age.

Hello Foxi,
some 30 years ago I saw a television programme about him.
He hosted 2 French hunters in the RCA.
He carried a 460 mag. and a model 29 S&W . With the revolver he shot a leopard !
I don't recall if it was the French national chain (TF) or Belgian French television.
