Sounds awesome.Loved it!!!! Did a river dinner cruise above the falls, helicopter ride over the falls, zip line across the river, walk with lions, rode an elephant and a few other sites. I was there with my daughter, and a buddy and his daughter.

Have you hunted with Lungile? If you are hunting with Lungile at their Port Elizabeth camp, I recommend you use any extra time to visit ADDO Elephant National Park. https://www.sanparks.org/parks/addo-elephant
We had a left over day and went to ADDO. It was a spectacular day, and we saw many species besides elephants. Highly recommended!
No such thing as "tag out early" on an African safari... Bring extra money and keep hunting. You may never make it back or you may see an exceptional animal you may not have considered. You paid the day rate, use up all your hunting days to hunt! You spent the time and money to get there...Hello, I have a friend who purchased a safari at fundraiser. It sounds like the location we are going to should be relatively easy to take the animals on the package. If we get done early and there are days left on the Safari, what is the normal procedure? Do you then leave or will there be something to fill the time. What is expected? We are new to this so we trying to plan appropriately. Should we take insurance so we can change flights if needed?
Something to consider for your hunt as well. African hunts are a better value the more animals you take. Shipping to and clearing trophies in the US is largely a fixed cost it’s expensive for just a few animals and not much more for a few more. Doing 1 larger hunt is cheaper than doing 2 small hunts trying to save costs.I really appreciate the knowledge and feedback. I didn't realize there is so much to this. This forum is a lifesaver.
Keep in mind that package is not carved in stone. If you dont get impala, you may get springbok. It is still great hunt. So, dont be a grudge about actual way a safari goes.I really appreciate the knowledge and feedback. I didn't realize there is so much to this. This forum is a lifesaver.
You guys are smart to bring extra money for extras. Too easy to just get there by a thread, without any margin for a windfall opportunity at an unexpected trophy.Keep in mind that package is not carved in stone. Take a note what @375Fox said, more animals you take, cheaper per head it gets. One safari with more animals is cheaper than two safaris with same number of animals, Twice the return ticket, twice the shipping cost.
When I say about swapping the animals, or adding more animals: basically this is what they call beginners safari. It is made of multiple common plains game animals in target rich environment.
When you take a deeper dive to Africa, and become specialized safari hunter, this is when things get difficult. When you get to:
Single animal high costs safari without guarantee! (Oh, yes!)
So, enjoy your first trip, and enjoy multi species safari, take as much animals as you can - and have extra budget for animals of opportunity.
BTW - some animals you can not plan, they are not part of usual packages because they are unpredictable, and if they come out, and PH advises to shoot, just shoot.

Kruger park is always a good excursion if in that part of South Africa, you will be expected to shoot a few more animals. Trophy fees are cheap compared to another international flight. It was purchased at a CCA fundraising dinner in Sarasota. The outfitter is Lungile Safaris in South Africa. It is for 2 hunters, 7 days a blue wildebeest, a spring buck, a mountain reed buck and a blesbuck.
On a donation hunt you are expected to keep shooting extra animals. They may treat you badly if you don't. Read up on donation hunts here in AH please.Hello, I have a friend who purchased a safari at fundraiser.
