I’m sure this topic has already been discussed at length but what would you choose if you could only do one safari for those that haven’t been, or one more safari for those that have?
Where would you go?
Who would you hunt with?
What would you hunt?
What rifle/cartridge would you use?

Fantasy: A 30 plus day full bag safari with Buzz Charlton.
Reality: A walk up Eland hunt in the Kalahari adding in Gemsbok, as well as other opportunities as they arise.
.375 H&H and the .300 H&H that I do not own yet. Swift bullets all around.

If I found out I could only do one more safari and the money was available and health was good.
I would have my preferred PH Gerrit set me up something in Zim for elephant leopard and one more buff for my last HURAH!
CZ 550s in 375HH and 458 Lott. My two go to rifles. Both loaded with Swift Aframes and Solids

If / when I go on my next safari, it will be to the Save in Zimbabwe. I spoke with several outfitters at SCI and could pick any of them and be happy. Buffalo, nyala and bushpig would be my top targets. I’d take my #1 in .458 Lott and Blaser in 9.3x62.
If I could go on two more it would be with Jamy Traut in the Caprivi for buffalo and Dalton and York in Zim for buffalo. Most likely take a .416 Ruger and .375 on those hunts.

Nice choices, I’ve heard nothing but good things from both of those safari operators.

Tracking big Eland bulls on foot with the bushmen trackers in Bushmanland, northern Namibia with my open sighted 9,3x62.

Second to that hunting an old
Vaal rhebuck ram during flower season in Namaqualand.

Nice! The 9.3x62 is getting a lot of love on this thread which is of course justified.

I spent two weeks in the Okavango in 1991 hunting out of 2 different camps, on foot and makoro. I think I could do that again for even longer.
But I would have to go back in time to do it, things have changed there.

30 day full bag with a few close friends (5-6 total). I would take the rifles I own. A CZ557 in .30-06 and a 550 on 375 H&H along with a Winchester model 12 in 16 gauge because I'd have to get some wing shooting in at some point.

It would have to be 10 days spike camp in Namibia with my son. Kudu, Eland and Oryx.
Rifle would be my CZ550 in 30-06 with 180 grain Nosler partitions.
2 bottles of my favourite malt whisky

With unlimited budget, full bag east african safari (Tanzania)
With limited budget for 5 PG species, just anywhere - it is all about boots on the ground, and sweet humid smell of African air.
