The taxidermist is wanting to know what demensions he has to stay in for my giraffe mount. I have no idea how big one normally is and im trying to remember how big he was. The thing that is throwing me off is how wide his chest was and how deep the shoulders go back. So could any of yall help me? Expecially the ones with a giraffe mounted. How wide is the chest and how far back does it go? I have the height down but I dont want to shave to much of his shoulders/chest off and the mount not come out looking right. So what am I realistically looking at for his shoulders and chest?

Mines at taxidermist now... but he told me it will be approx 11’ tall and a 36” door i should be able to get it through.

I would not get the height less than 8 feet. And I would make sure it fits through a 36" wide door. It gives you a lot more flexibility. That is what I did with my giraffe, I don't have high ceilings and non hunting people seem to like it.

I unfortunately have to have it at 7ft 10.. I am still active duty and never know where I will end up being

It's possible, a good taxidermist can do the work. Don't give up hope.

I just checked mine and it's 36" wide and 8 ft 4" height. As Enysse says above talk to your taxidermist though, i had mine made in order that we could get it into the house ... sure he'll be able to accommodate.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
